Hi all,
Fairly new vaper and l'm looking to upgrade from the 808 set up I've got now (a couple V2 batteries, one Halo, and one Volt x2, all auto) to a more standard ego/510 set up and I'd like some advice before I drop the money.
I'm thinking of going for a iTaste vv4. It seems rather advanced compared to my current set up and am hoping it will serve me well for a fairly long time. I know it's only manual, which I want to switch to anyway. I see it can handle down to 0.8 ohms, which is fine as I don't see myself attempting to go sub ohm. Is this a good rig or is there something better? I'm not interested in a mod, at least not yet.
I'll also need some clearos and tanks for it. Right now I'm using V2s and Halo's clearos and they're alright but I want better when I upgrade (besides, they're all 808 thread). I'm looking for something that gives good vapor (but not interested in cloud chasing) and taste and is reliable. I'd like a couple of largish ones I can put my ADVs in as well as some smaller ones so I can have an assortment of flavors at the ready. Right now I have an old Altoids tin with a butch of the small .9ml V2 clearos loaded with different flavors.

Any advice at all would be more than welcome.

If you are looking for an upgraded setup here are some possible options for you to consider:

A variable v/w (twist/spinner) is usually recommended over a "non variable" v/w battery. It allows you to adjust your settings to get a better "vape". Some flavors taste better at higher voltages than 3.7v

1. JoyeTech Ego-C Twist
2. Vision Spinner
3. Innokin iTaste vv v3 (or the new vv v4 - 750mah or 1000mah)
4. Innokin iTaste MVP v2 (or even better an MVP 20 watt)
5. eLeaf iStick

The first 3 are fall into the "ego style" category of battery (with variable voltage). They range in size from 600mah to 1300mah. The higher the mah the longer the battery will last between charging.

The 4th & 5th ones are a step up from an "ego style" battery in that they are smaller variable v/w box mods with a very big battery (2400-2600mah). It will last many vapers a whole day before it needs recharging. The MVP is probably one of the most popular batteries for someone upgrading from an "ego style" battery. The iStick is also very popular.

I suggest buying only name brand Joyetech Twist or Vision Spinner ego batteries if you choose to go this route. BTW, "ego" is merely a type of battery, not a brand name. Buying "generic" ego batteries is always going to be hit or miss...mostly miss.

You will also need to purchase a tank (the juice attachment) and extra coils. The mini Nautillus, mini Aerotank or regular size Aerotank (all made of glass & all have adjustable airflow control) are very popular.

Why would you want a glass tank (you may be thinking to yourself)? Here is a great resource regarding "tank cracking" eliquid by ECF member Baditude: Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

My standard recommendation is an MVP20w or a iStick mini with a nautilus bvc tank to top it off with. New versions of both should be out soon (if not already), I know the iStick mini v1 had some complaints about build quality that are being addressed in the new version, and it will now be a 30w mod. Either will give you all day vaping around 12w. The nautilus bvc gives great flavor and vapor.

I think with the itaste vv you have to get a few as the battery life will only last you half a day or so. It is odd at first to hold these larger "Mods" in your hand, but that will soon pass as you are blown away by the vape quality.

hth :)

I had a couple Itaste VW3's and they work great. I've actually passed them along to my wife with some aspire K1 tanks and she loves the setup. Like many of us you may keep upgrading for a while yet. Not necessarily because you need to but because, hey, what's that shiny thing over there? My current daily use stuff is a provari 3 and an assortment of kayfuns.

Thanks folks!

@HecticEnergy - The Volt x2 1300mah is my current battery and it's getting me more than a day per charge so I think (hope!) the vv4 1000mah will work for me.

@saddlehorse blues - I completely get the "Oohhh Shiny!" aspect. I thought I was happy with with just my Halo and V2 autobats, then I wanted the Volt x2, Now I want (and have ordered) the vv4 (This one wasn't completely "oh shiny" as I wanted something that was 510/ego threaded so I could actually get some decent clearos and tanks. Not completely but it is sexy ;->)
