Well to start lemme say I haven't smoked a real cigarette in a few months (been back and forth on real and vaping for about 3ish years just never consistent).

So here lies my problem. I'm content with my vape right now (always will want better but that's a want) but whenever I get upset or angered I always want to reach for a real smoke. And normally I would, I'd smoke a couple then be somewhat over my dilemma.

Currently I'm not the happiest of campers and my vape isn't settling my need for nicotine. And the constant thoughts of bumming one off my neighbor keep coming through my mind.

Is there anything I can do (besides not get as angry as often) to help me relieve my cravings with my vape?

I'm using 8mg in a carto tank on a I taste vv v3

Thanks in advance. Been struggling with this for a while ;)

Hi CJ, stress is a trigger for most people, especially in the beginning, sure was for me! What most do with success is up their nic during this time. I know what helped me was to drip my favorite tobacco flavor. Everyone is different, but take it from someone who has been there, it does get easier with time. I went from running to the convince store for a pack, to never having the desire! You just have to work through it. I love something I read here once, "Don't count the cigarettes you smoked, count the ones you didn't" If you slip, just make sure you go back to your vape! One day it will be all you want. Best of luck to you! You'll make it!

8mg is pretty low for someone trying to quit , 18 or even 24 mg will help , the other option is WTA or whole tobacco alkaloids , there are several vendors that make this , they chemically extract the alkaloids that have a calming effect from whole tobacco , some people find there's still something missing in their juice after months of trying to quit , WTA is made for them .

I don't like how the flavor is muted at higher nicotine strengths (at least on all the ones I've tried)

I found a somewhat remedy for the time being till I can get my hands on some of that WTA cause that sounds like it was made specifically for me lol.

    My remedy consisted of:
Found my old nemesis with my fully charged sony
Replaced the cotton on my .3 ohm single coil

And then attempted to cloud chase using the 8mg and old 12 mg. that hit me in the chest hard and focused more on the feeling than the aggression.

Can I order the WTA online I'm assuming cause I'd rather not kill my chest every time i feel the need for a analog?

I can't speak to smoking because I switched to stop dipping, but I agree 8mg is pretty low. I started over a year ago at 24 mg and mix and switch between 18mg and 24mg. I did drop to 12 mg after about 5 months but it was too much too fast. Most people I know that have failed to stick with vaping have done it for that reason; not enough nicotine. I know the idea for some is to quit altogether, but cutting back too fast is usually a recipe for disaster. If you're not satisfied with your nicotine level the instinct is going to be to go back to what satisfied you. I dipped for over 26 years. A little over a can a day which is about the same as a 3-4 pack a day smoker. Thats a lot of time and a lot of nicotine. I can't expect to quit in just a few months.

So i smoked my first cigarette at the age of 8 and smoked every day at 14 i am 39 now and have not had a cigarette since february, I still get cravings too, what i do is as been said up my nicotine from 1.6 (16mg) to 2.4 (24mg) for a few puff or till the craving goes away. another thing i did is i still have the last pack of cigarette i brought with me i keep it in my work bag and it helps mentally that i can have if i chosse to and i dont. That may be risky but its been working for me

you to ecf. As you already know, this is just a wonderful place with some fantastic people. I have gotten so much help and support during my first year of vaping. I wish you luck on finally being able to vape full time (if that is what you really want). There is nothing wrong with doing both. It is your choice only. Hope to read more posts about your successful vaping. :)

Well I think I'm doing good so far! After I got the nicotine I needed (higher mg juice on a rba) I didn't feel like I needed a real smoke. The feeling came back a little bit later while I was at the gas station and was close to buying a pack and convince myself to "only smoke 1 in the morning and half on an emergency" but I didn't buy a pack :) it's definitely different to get adjusted again (yes again I've done this road many of times) to my vape instead of smokes.

But so far it's working and I'm feelin better about it. Still gonna get some WTA juice, maybe some tobacco flavor, and bump up my nicotine to settle myself for a little longer.

Thanks for all the support and help! I know this will be the time I stick with vaping all the way through till it's all over

Get a miniprotank and keep some 24mg in it; like maybe even a cigar flavor; and when you get that craving, just take 1 slow puff.

Think you need higher nic, especially with urges like that. I had Itaste VV v3, they produce decent vapor. Never been a fan of anything carto. I would start with nic, then tanks. Maybe wick coil like iClear or bottom coil like Kanger.

I should be getting my dna 30 tomorrow so I won't have to worry about my vv v3 :) I have a pro tank, an aero tank, and a evod. I find the carto tank to be my favorite at the moment. It has good flavor good vapor and it conserves my juice more than my aero tank (which is my second favorite)

Keep in mind that there are addictive substances besides nicotine in cigarettes, as well as MAOI's, which are used to treat depression. You have to get past all that stuff and nicotine will help but it won't do the whole job.
Exactly! Thats what I always tell my friends. Nic is only a part of it all. Who knows what else they sneak in there.

Glad the higer nicotine worked! I smoked 2 packs a day for 25 years so I use a 24MG nicotine and it works perfectly for me and keeps the cravings away most of the time. When I'm under extreme stress is when I really notice the cravings again. Thank God and this forum I've managed this far to get through them and they pass. But the only time I'm really struggling is when stress level is overload. Other than that the 24 keeps me very comfortable.
