I am using the tank from my obs cube which work fine on the obs cube with my Aegis Solo.
(I'd stay with the cube, but the display continuously comes on & drains the battery)

I bought the Aegis Solo to replace the cube, but after I got it home the display was locking me out saying "no coil detected".

Any thoughts to fix Aegis Solo? I have 10 days left on the store warranty, and showed them the problem 2 days ago when bought juice.

Thanks for the link Katya. I bought a bunch of the Solos when they were selling them for dirt cheap. Wanted to stock up for the apocalypse. I have never run into this problem but with a half dozen Solos in my inventory my odds are higher. I use a Kayfun Lite 2019 on my Solo. They are bottom fill meaning you have to unscrew the tank. I simply turn my mod upside down to do this. I do not unscrew the base from the mod. It would seem this works in my favor by not disturbing the 510 connection. On occasion I will remove the base for cleaning but otherwise it stays put. Perhaps it is possible for others to minimize the times they remove the base from their Solo. And if/when they do, it is a good time to swab out the connection with a q-tip.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
From FAQ

Mod Issue: No Coil Detected or Atomizer Short

Please try another atomizer that is working fine in your other mods, and check if you have built the coils correctly.

If you have tried several tanks and the device is still not working properly, do not worry, we have 90 days warranty to our products.

Please read our warranty policy and provide the video of your issue.

● Please show us the same atomizer is working fine in other mods.
● Please show us at least two atomizers do not work in your device.

Personally, I believe the Solos have positive 510 pins that sit a hair lower than most other mods and/or the 510 spring on them gets fatigued over a short time causing atomizer that once connected to not connect anymore. That's not surprising given these are supposed to be water/dust/shock resistant and the price doesn't reflect that, however it is shocking since they could have cut costs elsewhere. Just my gut feeling.

Thanks for the link Katya.

You're very welcome.

So did I. I have four of them. One in my daily rotation, 3 in storage. Never had a problem yet, but I'm beginning to wonder...

I still have a couple of MadVapes' circuit board spacers that were extremely useful back in the day when we had all kinds of connectivity problems with our mods and atties. You just had to drop one into the 510 well of your mod and the connection was re-established instantly. Unfortunately, they have been discontinued years ago and nobody else carries them.

I appreciate those who tried to help.

I am returning it to the store today before the 30-day store sales warranty ends on the 10th. I am not willing to risk Aegis refusing to honor the warranty (I have seen too many angry posts about this because the unattainable return hoops couldn't be followed exactly)

It began acting up within the first 10 days and stopped working completely 4 days ago.

I don't own all the equipment Aegis wants me to try before I can return it. And therefore, I'm not interested in jumping through the hoops Aegis wants in order to get a return number. The product should just work, without fail every single time; and IF something goes wrong, they should just replace or fix the product.

That is what customer service looks like.

The paint wore down on the plastic trim piece that surrounds the leather portion. Removed and repainted it. The actual color is darker than the photo. More of a cranberry color (muddy red). Doesn't stand out as much as the photo suggests. Rust Oleum Colonial Red.

So this is an issue w/ the Solo's 510 connection.
There's stuff on YouTube about the Legend & X having battery compartment issues, including not powering on because of that.
Some folks online are complaining about their Boost Plus & Pro pod mods dying in a short time.

Why is the Aegis line so popular and well-regarded again?

Because for $26 I’ve had an Aegis mod that has fired 420 degrees every time without fail for 19 consecutive months and counting.
