Hi all,

I got myself an Aegis Solo, and I absolutely love it. I am very new to vaping, only been vaping for a couple of months, and I have some questions. I tried to look for them but due to my lack of knowledge the answers didn't help a lot.

I was thinking of getting a new tank because people say it really makes a difference flavour wise. I have seen a lot of users praising the Falcon King. Is it really that different from the Cerberus that I have? Will it fit the Aegis Solo?

I have learnt that battery life will decrease significantly, but I am not too worried about that honestly. I vape circa 10 ml a day so my guess is that I would have to recharge a couple of times, and that doesn't bother me. On this note, would the Falcon consume significantly more juice given my standards?

Thanks!

Yes mesh coils typically consume more eliquid and require more power then regular coils. They do produce better flavor though in my experience. You do have a choice of regular or mesh coils with the Falcon but they require more power then I would be comfortable with using a single 18650 mod.Any tank with a diameter less then 28mm will work with no overhang.

Sorry I was editing my post.:)
What coils are you currently using and at what power level?
What kind of battery are you using in your Solo?

I am using the super mesh that came with it. The ones that run at 35w best (I think they are the X2)

The battery was inside the package - I don't know exactly...sorry

I bought the kit as an upgrade from the aegis boost, that I still use at work and when I am out. Thanks!

Hi Mattia,

The issue here is that 18650s (the batteries we usually use for vaping) aren't like AAs where they're all pretty much interchangeable. The wattage you can use (safely!) depends on the particular battery you're using as well as the mod you have. 18650s have two key characteristics:
  • CDR - this determines the maximum wattage you can use
  • capacity - this gives you an idea of how long the battery lasts between charges, assuming you've selected a battery with an appropriate CDR
Part of the problem is that CDR and capacity have an inverse relationship - as one rises, the other falls. This means that if you're looking to vape more than 45 - 50 w per battery, the capacity of the batteries that you can use safely starts to drop a lot.

A lot of the Falcon King coils have a recommended range of 70 - 85 w, which means your options are really limited if you want to vape them on a single battery coil. (At least if you want to vape at that wattage - there's nothing wrong with using a lower-than-recommended wattage if it suits you). You would need a battery like the Samsung 20S (30 amp CDR, 2000 mAh capacity) for the Falcon King. It's really more suited to a two-battery mod.
