I have a new Kanger Aerotank on my iTaste MVP 2.0, using VW set to 8.0, one thing I noticed is as I Vape away on it, over time (few hours) the e liquid starts to darken.
To the point where it looks like a real dark amber / coke type colour. Now this doesn't happen using my mini pro tank 3, kanger T3S, Evod 2, or any other tank i used.

I'm assuming its caused by the additional air flow and the air getting to the e liquid causing it to almost steep while in the tank with air and heat.
p.s. I was using a clear e liquid called RY4 Double 50%pg / 50%vg blend by Canada E-juice. It tastes fine, no burnt taste at all, just real dark in colour.
And like I said, using the same e liquid in other tanks this doesn't happen at all.
Has anyone else come across this?

My iClear 30s on a VTR does the same thing. I never worry about it. Figure it's basically the same thing that happens when you "reduce" a liquid on a stove. If it gets too thick, I dump the last dribbles and refill. Not sure it's a problem per se.

It's defiantly not a problem, I was just curious why the aero tank does this to the e liquid and if it was caused by airflow mostly or ?
Thanks for your input.

By the way, the Aerotank is dual coil isn't it? I didn't see this happen until I started using a dual coil tank (now that I think about it)...

Yes the Aerotank is a bottom dual coil system, but I'm also using many other bottom dual coil tanks and none of them turn the liquid dark, just the Aerotank.
Thanks for your post.

Huh. Not sure what the difference is then. But my iClear does it every time. Hasn't been a problem...

The only common sense thing to me is the air intake on the Aerotank being so much more airflow and that higher air volume causing it to change colour faster than normal. Almost like a steeping situation darkening the e liquid, and it kind of has a fuller taste so maybe thats what it is. Like I said, I'm not concerned at all, just curious.

It's the wicks getting gunked up and leaching the color back into the liquid.

I generally can get several tanks of clear liquids through on a fresh wick without any browning, but if I run a single tank of any medium to dark colored liquid it will turn every tank after that a dark tea looking color. It doesn't seem to change the flavor, but if I run several tanks of dark liquid through it then it gradually will get darker with each tank until it's near black. I've dumped out a little bit of liquid that reached that point and it looked like it had a fine soot in it.

After that I don't wait. I won't run more than 2 tanks of medium to dark liquid before I change the wicks. I just keep a couple of coils in rotation and always have a freshly wicked one ready when I need it.

Ya thats what I thought at first but even with a brand new coil / wicks it turns like a coffee colour after a couple hours. No burnt taste at all, I think its just the added air getting in from the Aerotank along with the heat it seams to speed up the steeping process while using this tank vs others. The e liquid is clear to start.

I am vaping for 1 year and i didnt noticed anything similar with my juices... I vaped factory juices in iclear 16/30, kanger protank mini/1/2/evod cobra/rsst genesis and also my diy juices in kayfun/aqua, rda... Color didnt change a bit, ever. I dont think this is a good thing... Really interesting though!

btw after 2-3 weeks steeping is done, no more color change. Some aromas/juices are clear and they stay clear ;)

I'm using one, too. Does darken my clear juices, but then so does my single coil tank. (Got it from a B&M, don't know what you'd call it).

My Kanger has a 2 ohm coil in it and the other has a 1.8, and I run them both, depending on the juice, between 3.8 and 4 volts. I just figured it was the heat from my chain vaping cooking it down.

That sounds very possible. How often do you change wicks? I vape about two tanks a day - two different tanks. I normally change wicks once a week.
