As a former pipe-smoker, I'm surprised I never really looked at e-pipes, to me e-cigs are a "new" thing with there on aesthetic and why try to mimic the past?

But then I looked at epipemods.com and realized hey pipes are nice to look at and I wouldn't mind one especially if I could use my existing tanks--iv'e seen some tanks on pipe-stems--and cartos.

Thing is epipemods are WAY out of my price range at the moment and I was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction of some that are more reasonably priced.

Also I still own nearly a 100 tobacco pipes and have spent prolly several thousand dollars over the years on them, so if anyone has any thoughts on modding an existing pipe into an e-pipe I would love to hear about it.

I saw a few videos online, but it was basically sticking an ego into the mouth piece of a pipe. There might be more out there though.
I know that a lot of pipes don't use a lot of electronics and I would think (I'm not sure on this one) it would be similar to building a box mod. You would just have to put things in different places.

I think the reason they are so expensive is because these people can do it so well and make the pipe look amazing.

I really want to get a jazz carto pipe. I think they would be so cool! They are slightly less than the ones on epipe mods, but you would need to buy a battery and cartomizers if you do not have them already.

You could also check the classified section, someone might be selling a used epipe.

Epipes are generally expensive which sucks because I want one so bad D:

Believe it or not there was an e-pipe (and an e-cigar) before there was an e-cig. That said e-pipes are just like regular pipes. You can buy a $10 yellow bowl, or you can buy a $1,000 Dunhill.

Matt at epipemods does some pretty nice work, as does Romaniac at Jazz Cartopipes. The wife found out that she got me a Jazz pipe for Christmas last year when it showed up in the mail box. Matt's Pipe Sause is a pretty tasty vape in it.

Easy solution.. sale some pipes. I've funded quite a bit of my vape stash via pipe and tobacco sales.

www.brothersofbriar.com (gotta post thirty times before you even get to see the classies)
or ebay. or shoot if you don't want to mess with selling it send it to pipestud on ebay and let him do all the work.

It looks fairly straight-forward to mod a pipe into an e-pipe, if you're handy with tools. Here ar a few threads that I bookmarked some time ago, with some ideas:

    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/6905-my-latest-e-pipe-mod.html

    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/214349-3-pipe-mod.html

    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/260530-wooden-pipe-mod.html

I never got around to modding the one pipe that I have, though.

Many use a battery like an 18350 in the bowl, and a mechanical switch at the top of the bowl to complete the circuit. I imagine most bowls would have to be bored out a bit wider and deeper.

Run wires out the stem end to a 510 connector, and you can put any 510 carto on it. I'm sure it's possible to integrate the pipe's mouthpiece on some pipes.
