Good Evening fellow Vapers :),

Well its been about a week and things are going good.
My KgO is treating me right and keeping me satisfied..
My Vit.N needs were even met last friday night, with a few drinks in me and the company of my lady friend.
( Who.. BTW, complimented me on how different and nice my smokefree smooches were.. WooHoo!)

I got my sweeter , coffee vape in the morning...
I switch it up a little during the day , between some Vanilla tobacco, Cola, Iced tea and some others. LOL
and in the evening I have been enjoying some Peach Melba amongst others..

I gave up the hiding of my vaping in the work bathroom too.. I just shut my office door and do what I need to . F- It.
If I get caught , Ill worry about it then... It is better then pinching in a dip of chew.. No more of that either.

IMG_20120124_145840.jpg

( I ordered a few sampler packs and have been sampling them accordingly... Even adding a drop of this and that to my cartomizers and doing a little makeshift blend testing.. )

I am so happy to have an alternative to the nasty sticks ..

I do feel as of yesterday and today that I am experiencing some diminished tastes.. Especially "sweet"..
But I read that is a transient thing.. So I am not worried. I've also been getting up a little earlier then usual, without my alarm clock waking me.

I also feel compelled to have (2) batteries and some supplies on my at all times... 1 battery may be half charged and loaded with some juice , and the other one full and at the ready.

I am a bit unsettled at the thought of running out mid-day, or when I am out and about..

Is this normal?
:?:

I dread the concept of not having a vape toot when needed , and not having anything to turn to in its place other then an analog..
*Which would be easy to bum off anyone...
Especially those who I have tried to convince that Vaping is the way to go.. and because they aint ready to quit I predict some fools are even eager to say to me... " See, I told you that stuff don't work"..
:grr:
Well, I am NOT going to give them that satisfaction, I am well on my mission of a tobacco free me.

So, I ordered 2 more batteries and some additional supplies.

I think I may find myself having chargers and batteries in my home, in my car and at the office..

Did you all experience these thoughts? and just find a comfort level of supplies to alleviate any panic? 8-o

Did you designate some PV 's for home, some for travel , emergency stashes ? Have a battery charging and rotation routine?.. LOL

I haven't met any local vapers in my area to chat with and share my experiences with...
So..
You good folks are it.... :vapor:

I sincerely appreciate your time, advice and thoughts.

Peace and God Bless ..

- Vin

Hi and Congrats! Don't worry about vaping in public - just blow the vapor into your collar or sleeve or something so that noone sees the vapor. Most of us just vape in public discretely if a lot of people or kids are around and show respect to non vapors.

Rule #1 is - Backups and Backups for the Backups. You'll use them and it is definately better than worrying about being without vape.

As for the naysayers? They're the ones that will be asking you where to buy vape supplies next month. I was skeptical that it would work and didn't "get it" till I finally tried myself. Not looking back.

Make sure to post if you have any questions - we're all here to help. Have Fun and Happy Vaping!

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your story. I had strong cravings occasionally for the first few months, I think it is normal. I have backups to my backups even a year plus out. Just don't over do the Armageddon supplies in case your tastes or needs change. I got stuck with piles of KR808 cartomizers I'll probably never use. I think I'd rebuild an atomizer, first if they were made illegal.

Next time you order eliquid, throw in a small bottle of something menthol or cinnamon to have around if your taste buds go wonky. You can at least feel it on your tongue. A small bottle of high nic tobacco flavor comes in handy for really bad cravings too. It's like cheating without having a cigarette.

Good luck. Love the photo of you vaping in the office. Congrats on your first week.

PS> I know no vapors either except for the friendly one here on ECF. This place really helps you feel less alone in your new hobby.

The 'Oh my God, suppose I run out' will wear off when you have been vaping a little longer. It's much easier to go longer or without a vape once you have been vaping awhile. You won't get a panic feeling because you are not addicted to vaping and the addiction of nicotine is much, much less without all the chemicals in analogs.

Up your water intake for the taste problem. It's dehydration. Water will also help to flush the cig toxins out of your system.

I'm glad you are so happy and doing so well with the PV, Vin. All it takes is to find the right PV that delivers what you need.

Congratulations! Love the pic of you vaping in your office.

I never leave home without my two "travel" PVs (except one time). My Reo mini and my eGo-T. They go with me whenever I leave the house. Full batteries and full tanks/bottles...with extra batteries.

The one time I didn't take my PVs with me I had to go pick my dog up at the vet and didn't even think about taking my PVs! I didn't realize I was without one until I got home. I didn't have a nic fit either. And for ME, that's a miracle.

You'll get there too one day. I'm down to 6mg juice, so I know I'm getting a fraction of the nicotine I use to get smoking two PAD. The nic cravings are minimal.

Enjoy your vapes! It's a blessing for smokers. It really is.

Most people go through a period of diminished taste/aroma but there are also some things that can cause that

Not remembering to smell the vapor, having clogged sinuses/nose. anything that blows the vapor away so you can't smell it, other aromas around. Your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG). Everything else is aroma.

Having a dirty atomizers. Atomizers can be cleaned and that helps somewhat but they do degrade and that affect their ability to deliver flavor. Most people end up switching to cartomizers for everyday vaping of their favorite thinner juices. Cartos have limited lives, and you do have to keep them damp to keep them from singeing, but the good point is every time you start a new one your ecig will taste good as brand new.

Singed cartomizer - singe is bitter and will first erase all sweetness from a sweet juice then head into bitter. It can overpower some flavors. A cartomizer that has been reused too long will also lose flavor as the coil gets baked on juice. And dark/cloudy/opaque juices that drop flavoring sediment will degrade cartomizers and atomizers much more quickly than clear juices.

Hot drinks, alcohol, food tastes in your mouth can all interfere with getting the correct flavor from vapor.

Vaping the same flavor over and over and over. I carry 2 models with contrasting flavor cartos and each refreshes my taste for the other.

Oh yes, I can relate to the panic of not having anything to vape on me. I usually have 4 PV's on me and a dozen bottles of juice (easy for a woman with a large handbag *g*).

As to vaping in public: as long as there a smokers who smoke in public (which is allowed in Germany), I proudly vape in public. In pubs or cafes I ask, if I am allowed to vape and mostly it is okay.

It really great to hear your positive story. Especially while waiting for my first hardware to arrive!

Interesting you said you get up earlier. I had not noticed anyone else say their sleep pattern changed any after quitting analogues. I could use any help I could get. It's hard dragging my dead tired a** out of bed at 5:30 every morning.

Good stuff, VinPuff68! I am, too, more and more confident that vaping works! I don't think I crave analogs at all now (~2 weeks out) and I actually am starting to dislike the smell of cigarette smoke. I never ever believed that could happen. It's funny how I still have almost unconscious triggers throughout the day. Just a minute ago - as the episode of the show I was watching ended, I found myself halfway to the balcony door and reaching for the pack and lighter (yeah, I know, it's weird, I literally didn't touch the pack and lighter, they are exactly in the same spot on the table as I left them when I had my last cigarette). I'm like... what? I had no craving or desire for a cigarette, I had been vaping through the show so... it was just habit. But how strong it can be!... Bad stuff. Good riddance.

Gotta watch that we aren't just exchanging monkeys here though. I am vaping to quit smoking, not to start something else; I don't want to be tethered to anything. Thus, my investment will be minimal, despite having feelings similar to the OP. If one changes their thinking to make VP a smoking cessation tool, it takes on a bit less significance. Sure, withdrawal pangs are awful and I wouldn't wish them on anyone and I too take necessary steps to avoid them, but again, out of the fire and into the fry pan isn't my sort of path either. Of course, analogs are chemical stews designed to eventually kill you, but again, I am fighting addiction here and the last thing I want is a substitute that makes me crawl around serving it. Nicotine may be harmless unto itself, but addiction isn't. I don't think it is a healthy way to live. 1 e-cig, 1 juice is all I want to get over my weakness. To each their own, for sure, but I think what I am saying has some value.

My favorite solution for having backups has been to just carry 2 eGo batts, an 1000mah and a 650mah passthrough, each with an eGo Mega Dual Coil Carto. I can easily make it through a full day on a single charge of either batt and a single fill of either carto. And if the poo really hits the fan I've got a car USB adapter to charge the passthrough batt, and in really dire circumstances, a small backup battery/solar charger combo.

Thanks, Vin. You have no idea how much I appreciate your story. My first kit and juice come tomorrow and I can hardly wait. I worry if my husband and I will be able to adjust away from analogs. We have smoked over 40 years each! It is almost getting to feel like I am going to be walking away from a good friend. I just hope this new thing called e-cigs can help.

So, thanks for sharing. It really gives me some insight into what we have to look forward to. We are not swearing totally off analogs - they will be there if we need them for any reason. But I really hope that that need doesn't create itself. Keep it up and share. You never know who it will touch.

My dad quit smoking the day the surgeon general announced cigarettes cause cancer in 1964 (?). He had smoked since he was a little boy and quit when he was 38 years old. One day, about 10 YEARS after he had quit, he was doing yard work and said he had reached to his sleeve to get his cigarettes (he always had them rolled in his t-shirt sleeve) and have a smoke. 10 YEARS after he had quit. The things have powerful control. Not just the chemical addiction, but all the physical habits that one develops too.
