Before I started vaping I noticed that I was developing deep horizontal ridges on my fingernails. Those types of ridges can be caused by aging(I'm doing that one for sure) or there can be an underlying disease process present. Couple that with the persistent chronic every 10 minute cough and I was a bit worried. Didn't stop smoking, just studied my fingernails and worried more about it. I eventually stumbled onto a discussion about e-cigs on another forum, followed a link to here and started reading the info. I took the leap and stopped smoking completely 5 minutes after I started using my eGo. I probably would have quit sooner than that but I had to figure out how to use the blasted thing first.

So 2 months worth of vaping later, the cough is much better, as expected. Once or twice a day now compared to every 10 minutes before. But my fingernails are better! The ridges are not nearly as deep as before and they're all at the upper third of my nail now. Meaning no new ones are developing. YIPPEE!!

Well whatever it was, it's cured! Probably worms or something :)

I went to the quack recently and he looked at my nails as well, and was able to infer something from them. This is major progress here, believe me, because in the past they only ever considered mainstream methods and refused to acknowledge the obvious such as diet and lifestyle affecting health in any way. If it couldn't be found and fixed with an X-ray and pills or surgery they didn't want to know.
