Last month I posted here about my rm2 coming loose on my 4yo Grand, and many of you recommended sending it in for repairs. A neighbor offered to let me use one of his spare devices, an Ipv2 with an Atlantis on top. So, I bit the bullet and sent my one and only grand in for repairs.
All started off well. It got from Texas to Maine in a couple of days Rob sent me an invoice that was even lower than the original quote, and i figured I would have my grand back in a couple more days and my frustration with the badly inferior device i say borrowing would be over in under a week. Nope. The lovely post office decided to add an extra 6 days to my wait. My wife got tired of listening to me complain about having to refill that dinky little tank 4 times a day and how i was burning through my juice twice as fast, so she authorized me to go ahead and order a second reo. It was ordered within 5 minutes. Of course, within the hour my tracking page for my original grand updated for the first time in 8 days, and my old grand was finally in Houston. No going back though. The new grand arrived in just 3 days, and it's a beauty. In the tradition of Reoville, here is a photo. The old one is on the right - a beaten and battered (but working fantastic thanks to Rob) silver with a blemished replacement door (the original door went down a toilet!) and on the left is a lovely copper vein. 20150316_193702.jpg

Thanks Rob, and thanks Reonauts for all the great advice over the years.

Congrats on the new pick up, bander :toast:

Very classic, that CV. You do know to protect from tarnishing (irreversibly) you need to clearcoat it?

One more pic, hanging out with some dragons.

As they do, of course.

the original door went down a toilet

and, again, as they do.

Clue me in on how to clear coat it, PLEASE! I don't want to see this beauty all scratched up like the old one.

What a beauty!!! I can only imagine how awesome those are in real life.

Use something like this...... http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-77...6566750&sr=8-1&keywords=rust+oleum+clear+coat

Here is a vid but basically just hang it, or lay the door on a cup or something so it doesn't touch anything, in a paint box or outside........ several very light coats. Not a reo but will give you an idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyTeYRjc_zs

might hold it a little further away than he did. Do the body and the door. Someone who has done it will chime in, but probably 2-3 light coats, let dry 20 mins or so between coats. I've done other things, but not a copper vein. Not sure what all you need to do to protect the juice well, 510 etc. but someone will

Here ya go. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/571736-copper-lp-getting-dark-4.html#post13890164

I'm going to post some pictures and maybe a video on REMOVING the Rustoleum Clear Coat. I accidentally dropped my CV and the Clear Coat chipped off on the corner -- BUT it certainly did it's job at protecting the Copper Vein paint. I was able to remove the Old Clear Coat WITHOUT harming the original Copper Vein paint as well, and REDO the Clear Coat.

I'll have all the photos and possibly video to demonstrate the steps. This will show how to Clear Coat, and Remove it.
Until you can get it Clear Coated, I recommend you keep your hands CLEAN.
