Ive been a pack a day smoker for 14 years, and smoking for 16. (yeah, I started at 12) I will be buying my first pv on Thursday and quitting analogs the day I get my it. My question is, will I still cough up the nasty crap thats building up in my lungs since I'll be vaping? Any input and personal experience helps, thanks so much!

I think that this, like so many other things, will be a personal experience. I was 1.5 to 2 pack Camel filters for 30 years and did not huck up anything as I turned to vaping. But then, I never really coughed while I was smoking either. My wife was a different story. As a smoker she was always clearing her throat but rarely coughed. As she got to 90% vaping she did experience some "evacuation", but nothing too much. I blame it on her dang menthols

Smoked for over 30 years with the last few years at 2 packs a day. I was lucky in that I didn't cough a lot as a smoker, only on an occasional morning. When I stopped smoking and started vaping almost 6 months ago I expected to cough up a lot of that nasty crap but I only experienced very little nasty crap coming up. Not sure if that was good or bad, but it was my experience.

From what I understand, coughing stuff up is a good thing after quitting. It's the lungs healing themselves and clearing out the built up tar and such. It happens to most people regardless of their method of quitting. I used to work in a retail e-cig store and had a lot of people think the e-cigs were causing a problem because of the coughing, but it went away for everyone after a few weeks and then they reported to me that their breathing improved dramatically.

I went through the coughing thing when I quit cold turkey, but not so much when I quit again with e-cigs but I hadn't been smoking again as long so I may have gotten most of it out the first time around.

I didn't think I was going to, but ended up with the quitters flu yesterday. My nose is running/stuffy, my cough is bad and I have some digestive problems....but I know it will all go away soon. I used my inhaler to loosen the stuff up and some cough syrup I had from my last bronchitis run to put me to sleep last night.

That being said, I am still using about 3-5 analogs a day. Just hope that it will settle down in the next couple days....but today I feel a bit better :)
