I used a silica wick and 32 kanthal in rebuilding and followed Grimm Green's instructions except with looping the coil, where I went with 5 instead of his 4 in the video. I can't seem to get it work. Battery I'm using is an eGo twist. Any advice would really help...thanks!

If you have any links, I will check them out, I NEED to perfect rebuilding these.

Do you have anything that will read the ohms? I'm guessing you have a short. Are any of the wires protruding from the sides of the bottom pieces?

i don't think grimm's tutorial is the best example out there. Try finding another and see that helps. I seem to recall him trimming the legs before he got the thing reassembled. Maybe instead of a short you don't have a circuit at all?

Yeah man that's what I'm guessing, incomplete circuit or something. Is there a video or other form of instructions you'd recommend and can possibly link me to? I'm not going to make another attempt until I get right directions. I thought Grimm's was a little weird, it was rushed at some points and some of the assembling was done off frame.

Vapor Lady's video is great. Nail clippers ...! I think tonight I'll give it another whirl. The hardest part for me is that I don't have a way to measure ohms..best I can do is use the supplies as listed and see how 5 loops works. I'll get one eventually, not this month since vape budget is done. Speaking of done, looks like I'm done with flavor wicks too.

I rebuild my Pro Tank coils and have about an 80% success rate. I use 3mm silica and 32g kanthal wire. I'm no pro at this by any means. I have watched youtube videos and this is what I do when my Spinner (same as Twist, VV, but different brand) blinks after using a newly rebuilt coil:

1) Check where I clipped the wires at the base of the coil. Are they short enough and not causing a short in the circuit? I use nail clippers also, but sometimes, there is a wee bit of a tip left that is touching the battery when I screw on my Pro Tank. If there is even slight protrusion, I use needle nose pliers to mash them against the coil base (technical terminology is not my strong point).

2) If #1 doesn't resolve the issue, I take the base off, adjust the coil wraps and make sure they are not touching the coil seat and causing a short. I also double check that the wraps are not touching eachother or unevenly spaced.

3) If #1 and #2 don't resolve the problem, I cry and wail, and start over again.

EDIT ~

The more wraps you make the higher the ohms. If you have too few wraps, the ohms are too low and the battery has a built in mechanism to stop it from firing. Make sure you have at least 5 wraps.

5 is what I was going for and it's working great. I'm getting better vapor production and flavor with this setup now. I definitely want to try using 4 but feel that more wire on the wick gives it more surface area coverage of the wick. What am I saying? still need to experiment. so happy I got this down now.
