The honeymoon phase of vaping has officially passed for me. I'm in no danger of becoming a smoked again but I am genuinely annoyed at tinkering with this. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford the equipment I want and DIY supplies for my liquid. I think to many options/ weak points is the problem. By that I mean on smoking my questions came to black lighter or blue lighter. That was decided by which ever one I grabbed first. Now it's tank or rda, provari or mech, 32g or 28g kanthal, cotton wick or cotton wick (I have dry humor). But you guys get the idea. Plus something is always wrong. Burnt coil, old wick, leaking tank, flooding tank etc. After 5 months of vaping I still have not one go to flavor I can depend on store bought or my own. Btw on the DIY liquid I'm extremely peeved because I have coworkers that ask me for a bottle weekly so I know the recipes are good I just don't like/ can't taste them consistently. My pity party is over now.

I'd charge em. I DIY too and it gets a bit costly when there's several people looking at ya with their hand out for a free 30ml bottle. Plus there's the time put in to it, dragging all the stuff out, measuring it, etc..... You should get something out of it, at least cost for supplies. This is just my opinion and I have had this happen. I'm with Bunnykiller, find yourself one mod and one topper at least for a while. Take the stress out of it.

Oh I suppose the bloom is off the rose for me too, but my experience is much different. I have found what I like, and I have it all working very well with a minimum of effort on my part. A VMAX and a VTR, Iclear 30s's for going out and ADV juices. PT2's with rebuilt microcoils for darker or sweet juices. My next purchase will most likely be a Russian 91%, but I am in no hurry for that.

This is why I believe a lot of us fell off the wagon a few years back...had a lot to do with why I did. I am enjoying NOT HAVING to build or rebuild anything this time around...plenty of reliable equipment that's charge-and-go. I am one here who feels bad when everyone recommends rebuildables to brand new folk; some will enjoy it no doubt, but a lot of folk in our busy lives don't want or need something that time consuming, especially right off the bat, although it also serves as a distraction when quitting other bad habits!
so I guess I'm promoting KISS vaping...

I just simply say NO when folks want me to make juice for them. (if they insisted ... they would get crab juice)

We all get phases when it seems like nothing works. When that happens I just go back to basics.

...And you KNOW someone would LOVE that crab juice and that's how new businesses get started and we'd all be trying to clone it here..:D

I avoided rebuildables due to having a two hour commute five days a week and two kids. This post just gave me another reason to avoid them. I like to tinker for fun, but if all I had were rebuildables it would change from fun to yet another task to do. I am trading for one rebuildable dripper to test juices with, and I think that wills be it for me in the rebuilding category. I'm pleased with my cartotanks with Smok cartos. I messed around with Boge for a while, and while they initially taste better Smok lasts so much longer and I've yet to get a DOA Smok. With Boge I'd say a good third have been DOA'S. I have no time to deal with that. Carto tanks for the win here. Prime the czar to, fill the tank, and you're set to go with only a top off of the tank when needed until the carto dies. The carto generally doesn't die until you've put 30 ml through it.

I do charge them a bit for the juice. The time it takes is still annoying sometimes. My mod is the one thing I don't have issues with. My go to is a provari. The topper and finding a liquid I like and can taste is my issue. I have tanks but my dripper hits so much better. It's trading time for quality. I want to have my cake and eat it too. On the liquid once I get vapors tongue to a juice it seems to take over a month before I can taste it again or at least before it tastes right. Part of that problem is once I find something good I'll vape it almost exclusively for a couple weeks. Then it starts again. Yes I stay hydrated, brush my teethe etc.

I like that - KISS vaping. I am a "set it and forget it" person. I don't want to constantly change my screensaver like my friends do. I want to drive the same route to the grocery store when I go. I like black slacks because they go with everything and I don't have to decide what goes with what. Some would call that boring, I call it freedom from making lots of piddly decisions all the time.

I wanted to find a device that was reliable with good battery life and was not trouble to use. I found it - the MVP 2. I set it to 7.5 watts the day I got it, and left it there. I wanted a few juices that tasted pleasant, and I found them. I wanted toppers/tanks that didn't leak or need to be retro-fitted or rebuilt. I found them.

I am all set, and I am a happy vaper. Most important, I am not a smoker anymore.:)

P.S. I am ridiculously easy to please - I like cheese pizza!

I feel for frustrated new vapers but not too much considering the available gear when I started. I too cringe a bit when posters suggest that noobs immediately jump into rebuildables, re-coiling, micro coils, multiple micro coils, exotic wicks, etc. New vapers would be better served to stick with proven plug and chug gear until they're in a warm and fuzzy place with it before exploring the world of tinkering.

I used to tell people that I really enjoyed working on car engines but only if it was an engine in a car I didn't have to drive the next day.

now this is a happy vaper.....i found the same bliss in RDA's after the learning curve. can't seem to go back after finding my personal pinnacle. started to hunt down and buy another mech mod last night. only thing i could find was a copper drip tip (a very cool drip tip :D) that i felt i could really use. when your equipment works well for you what else do you need? seems i have joined the happy vapers club.
of course there is that sterling silver mod i want built

I would say instead of "the bloom is off the rose", with you contemplating a Russian 91%, It should be "The rose is about to bloom"!

I see WAYYYY too many people on here make things EXTRA complicated for themselves.

The truth is, there are some VERY basic e-cig combinations that work WONDERFULLY, such as using an Ego twist with an evod.

All the tinkering can be avoided, and the only reason you should tinker is if you ENJOY it, or you want to make a hobby out of it, like many of us have.

Personally, I use IBTanked carto tanks on my MVP2 for ease of use, no hassle, no fuss, and reliability.

As for tinkering, I use my mech mod + kayfun lite clone.

Some days, I don't feel like tinkering, or don't have the time....and it isn't a problem, because I have my reliable IBTanked Carto tanks, or my iClear30, or hell, even my protank 2 these days.
