After zillion samplings finally think I found my preferred cartos

After trying nearly 20 different kinds of cartos all that can go in a carto-tank I finally think I have found some I will stick with. For 3.7v my vote goes to Smoktech 1.5 single coil, and for my VV at 5.5v Boge 3.0 are the strongest although there are many more acceptable options for above 3.7 including the Hoosiers dual coil 2.0 if I want to make use of my longer tanks. Yes I like to run my cartos hot. Finding a good 3.7v carto was the hard one, I went through a lot of options before I found one that would really light up, many of them don't seem to really hit their stride until 4.2v+ even though they are LR. Also some either don't wick as well or the opposite they tend to get slurpy.

Hmm now I have a lot of miscellaneous cartos (about 50) now that I don't really want to use including about 15 used ones that I tried and then put back into their condoms. I'm frugal, probably use them anyway, with VV you can get almost anything to give a decent vape for a couple days.

Maybe I'll come back and write a comparative review of all these cartos. I have a couple new mods ordered so maybe I'll break out out again and try them on the new equipment.

I tried a bunch of different cartos and have to agree: Boge cartos rock. I got 2.0 and 3.0 just to try both, and both work well, just at different voltages. My sweet-spot is a 3.0 Boge at 4.8V, but I sure like the 2.0 as well. I got a bunch of "fruit" juices from Vaporgod (you get a 5ml sample with every 5-pack of cartos) and the flavor comes out a lot nicer on the 2.0 at 4.0-4.2V. It seems to depend on the juice which carto I prefer, but they sure perform better than anything else I've tried, including dual-coil 1.7, 2.0, 2.5 and 3 ohm cartos -- I'm not a DC fan, it seems.

Dual Coils have to be fed more power and I have run into this problem. The 1.5 ohm DC's draw so much current that they throw the current protection in my IP before they seem to be getting enough power to both coils. And the 2.5 ohm seem to need more power than can be delivered at the upper limit of 5.5v of the IP. The 2.0 ohm DC that I found from Hoosiers runs quite well at 5 - 5.5v and give a good vape. The Saber VV with hi-power option that I have on order in theory should be able to supply more power and will probably make the 1.5's and 2.5's serviceable to me. I imagine that the Smoktech 2.5 DC give a good vape to the 6v mod users, but I have never used a device set up to run at 6v. In general though the DC's can work well at lower wattage than I prefer and provide plenty of vapor while doing so, they just don't give me much TH.

I've also been trying out some different cartos.

After over two years of vaping, I find I MUCH prefer just sticking with a carto tank! They work wonderfully, you can easily replace the carto for very little money, and they don't leak!

Yesterday, I decided to stick a MadVapes Vision on my device before leaving the house.

Twenty minutes after leaving, I notice juice around the top of my MadVapes VV Box! I wipe it up, and vape another ten minutes, and now there's juice all over the Vision, and all over my hands! BIG MISTAKE!

In fairness, it was an older Vision, and I've used them in the past without any leaks, but it was a mess. I tossed it, and had to wait until I returned home to vape!

I ordered some dual coil in different ohms, to see what all of the fuss is about.

Perhaps on lower voltage devices, they preform great, but both of my devices are variable, and I find I prefer the Boge 2.0 and 3.0 cartos. The dual's aren't bad, but after about three, four days the draw gets very tight, and it feels like I'm trying to suck a golf ball through a straw! :p

I'm waiting for a wood variable voltage device I've ordered. Once that arrives, I have to decide whether to keep my MadVapes VV Box mode and/or ProVari, and with my Mom & Pop Sub Mini tanks, and my Lava Tank... I'm good!

I just wish they had a Boge 1.5 ohm for 3.7v, the 2.0 ohm don't really start firing until about 4.5v, that's why I prefer the Smoktechs when limited to 3.7v. With that said the Boge 2.0 is the only carto that I've tested that can be used everywhere form 3.4v to well over 5v. Although much over 5v you better take a real short drag, otherwise you might start a fire.

Boge 1.5 used to be available, but I can't seem to find them anywhere now. The 2.0s I've tried seem to actually measure 2.2-2.4, so that may be part of the issue.

The Hoosier dual coil cartos are also smoktech.

The only reason I make the distinction is that Hoosier's themselves do not make the claim that they are Smoktech (only that they are replacements for the Smoktech DCT), they look exactly like the Madvape's DCT cartos that are unbranded. Both of which have a different flange from the ones that are branded Smoktech (round, that doesn't fit the unround depression in the end of the Smoktech tank). At the same time I've only seen the cartos with the flanges that match the tanks in the 1.5 and 2.5 ohm. Hoosiers sells other Smoktech cartos (unpunched, unflanged) that are clearly referred to as Smoktech.
