Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a mechanical mod, AGA-T+, and all the supplies needed to rebuild. Also, I drilled out my AGA-T+ for 1/8".
Now I was wondering if other people could share some information that I could try as well or even for other people who rebuilds.

Such as:

1. the length and width for SS Mesh wick that works best for you?
2. the coils gauge (28-32,etc), wraps (3/4, 4/5, etc), style (use of flat, regular kanthal, twisted)?
3. which method works best for you when wrapping the coil?
4. what seems to increase wicking for ss mesh?
5. what other supplies you have used to modify AGA-T? (different screws, rubber cap for wick hole, new o-rings, etc)

I apologize if there is a thread similar to this and I would be appreciated if someone could post a link. If it is not, I think this would be a informative thread.

Thank you everyone in advance :)

There is an AGA TPlus thread with like 250 pages worth of replies, check it out.

Get ideas from it but it bottoms down to personal preference!:D

Hello palmmute,
I thought this thread would help to solely obtain information without conversation so that it would be easier to read through for myself and other people. Thank you for the tip!

Currently I am using

1.5" x 3.0" 500 ss mesh with 28 kanthal a-1 wrapped 4/5. I directly wrapped the coil around the wick. After spending 5 minutes, it glows nicely. Definitely, it produces a lot of vapor by firing for 1 second. I am not sure if my ejuice has gone bad or lost flavor, but I am not sure about the taste. It is just pretty harsh on my throat though. "cough cough"

this is where the hobby get fun :) experiment and see which works best for you, i personally wrap 28g kanthal with a 3/32 drill bit (petar k method) it fits nice in the AGA-T wick hole, and put a glass tank cuz some flavors i have are known to crack poly tanks (shoulda got a t2 lol) also leaving the fill screw open helps with the wicking. vape on!

With a 1/8 Wick hole you'll want to use a little more wicking material. About 1.5"x3.5-3.75" of #500 mesh should do nicely, rolled almost solid until it slides in and out of the AGA without binding. Not too small, not too big. Think Goldilocks.

For a mechanical mod i'd suggest 28awg or 0.6-0.8x0.1 ribbon. A 3/4 or 4/5 wrap should be good, depending on your vaping style and how warm you want it to get. Just remember with a mechanical you adjust to your vaping style and preferences by tweaking the resistance of the coil.

A quick tip, consider drilling out your air hole. Myself and a bunch of others found 1/16th to be very good, not too airy, not too tight. Also that size drill bit is easy to find in a 10 pack at harbor freight lol. Just be sure to de-burr the inside of the top cap after drilling or risk cutting your fingers wiping it clean like I did haha.

Just the right information I have been looking for!!! Thank you guys!!!
28awg kanthal has been working quite nicely. It's just that it is pretty harsh vape since I have been using vivi nova rebuild with tiny tiny mesh and carto tanks.

I think I would have to drill the air hole as well. But how do you "de-burr" the inside? and where can I get a glass tube that fits perfectly in AGA-T+? I heard that the finish is not good on the glass but that was about a month ago...
