I heard this was an issue, the glass tank either doesn't fit or the glass is so poorly cut that you don't want to risk using it. Since I knew about it before I purchased, I also ordered a well cut glass tank from ibtanked. I know its an extra cost, but worth it to some.

Are the cut edges of the tank you got all eat up? Does it look like it was cut by the mouth of a rabid chihuahua??

I love DV, and do most of my shopping there, but until the glass tank situation is rectified, I will continue to recommend not wasting your time with his glass AGA-T tanks, and get an AGA-T tank from IBTanked for $11 shipped. It will be beautiful, and it will fit...

LMFAO... Almost wasted a lil Whiskey on that remark !!!!

Yes, it's chewed up on both ends. Shame.. I also knew from reading all the posts about it..

I figured I'd ask if anyone else had the problem with the oversized tanks before I sent off an email to him.

It's not only an issue with his tanks but every vendor that got tanks directly from the Aga-T+ manufacture. As for right now, my glass tank fits and hasn't leaked or broken yet so I can wait only ordering a tank from IBTanked for now. I'm still wary about repeatedly screwing and unscrewing the top plate for fear of the glass eating away at the o-rings.

Don't know what happened at DV, but I'd have to highly recommend against buying them. The ones I have, which did not come from DV but from the supplier, came with perfect glass. Seem all the complaints are coming from one vendor. Nothing against DV, but I think they got shipped a really bad batch.

If you're a DIYer, and don't want to spend 10-15 bucks (okay that not too much for an ibtanked tank) you can goto Lowes or Home Depot and get carborundum sanding paper to remove the rough edges or level out the cuts...

Here is a method that easily works (although not what I do exactly):
How to Polish the Edges of Glass | eHow.com

It's easy, takes only a few bucks, and you don't have to wait for shipping!

edit - I feel like I may not have explained well enough, seeing as I've done this before.

You want a fine grit sandpaper, be it carborundum or diamond, which can be picked up at any hardware shop (Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot, whatever), just avoid anything with a coarse label on it. Lay the sandpaper on a flat surface and move back and forth while applying water as a lubricant (yes it can get messy, a bathroom or kitchen counter top is perfect) until your glass is even/smooth. Then wet the sandpaper thoroughly and lightly go across the edges until the burs are gone. It's very easy and shouldn't be something to be afraid of trying...it's never too late to learn something!!!

edit2 - Figured I should put some sort of disclaimer in here,,,

If you have the option of sending your tank back for a new one, by all means do it. If you do not have that option, try this before buying a new one. Just be CAREFUL! Glass is obviously sharp and can CUT you, glass is also fragile, so work slowly. Sand it some then check you progress...you can ALWAYS take more out, you can't add any. Use common sense...be careful and go slowly. Yes it beats spending 15 bucks for a new tank shipped...but if you have a warranty and don't mind waiting, USE THE WARRANTY. I am just giving my opinion on something that can save money and time if you want to try and learn something new. Yes, it's easy, but I have done this before, just go SLOW and you will achieve your goal.
