Well well well my first post! Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me! Here's my problem/question; My AGA-T2's Center Post is moving up and down slightly. Like a 1/2-2/3 of a nuts thickness. Sometimes it will even push the rubber isolator out of the bottom by thr 510 connection. I'm using it on a SmokTech Natural which has a floating pin or a GGTS which is a solid flat connection.

When I try to tighten it down like my AGA-T+ the post runs out of thread. The T+ has zero movement up and down. I'm beginning to think this is why I'm grtting the dreaded top hotspot? Am I missing something? Is this a design flaw? Or maybe even an "improvement". Anyone else have this problem? Please help a rba rookie out. I'm confused as two donkeys in a chicken pen. Or something like that..

Thanks for the help and double thanks for this site!

I had a similar problem with my first one too, caused I think by simply over tightening that bottom nut. I fixed that one with a tiny chunk of compression spring and the smallest brass washer I could find (you might have to use a file or something to trim the edges down a bit smaller). I replaced the *middle* nut by putting the spring on top of the bottom one, the washer on top of that and then the top nut on top of the washer. This provides some "pull" on that center pin with the added bonus of making it MUCH easier to attach the hot leg of a new coil.

I think Todd has a video or two on youtube where he shows one of his adapted like that.

Well damn. I appreciate the help guys! I was thinking about doing the "Todd Spring" today actually, juet got all my stuff lined up. I wonder if this is a common problem with the T2's? I really haven't tightened it down very tight? Weird. Still works though, so I'll make this one my test dummy for mod's.

While we're at it, do you know why thr T+ has another hole (screw is in it) that the T2 doesn't have?

Here is one of my AGA-T2 and a side shot of how I did the spring mod... I know it looks sloppy but it works! A bit smaller spring would be perfect and/or slightly smaller washers.

So ALL the holes have screw threading in them, even the one I have the wick in. So the positive post, the raised negative post "for silica", and four others although I'm sure one of them was open when I got it.

To allow for thermal movement, doesn't need to be any tighter. Never had one leak. Nothing to do with any hot spots.

Another hole? I thought they were the same outside of the plastic or glass tank difference...

***

Your right ...

Only different between the AGA-T+ and the AGA-T2 ...
- T+ has the poly plastic tube
- T2 has the pyrex tube

My best guest ... 3 holes
1 - the screw hole for the negative lead
2 - the wick hole it's self
3 - the hole, next to that short post with the hole in it ... supposed to be use for a silica setup, also can be used as a fill hole "my T+ came with a small silicone type of plug for this hole"

There is a 4th hole option ...
- That shorter post "has a hole & a small phillips head screw", pull that out with some pliers, and this is the 4th hole
- Can be used for a dual wick setup or a u-wick setup
