aga t2 coil issues

I was having a lot of trouble with hot spots on my aga t2 and finally after some trouble shooting tried putting the coil on the other side. With the wick though the fill hole with my kanthal through the post instead of under the screw. Fixed all my problems. Anyone else tried this? It helped me and may help you.

rdacrazy, after a while does the liquid color in the tank changes because of the carbon from the kanthal? mine does..is this normal? or can be fixed..
