aga t2 coil problem

ok so you guys have probably heard this before so sorry for that i just got into rba and got my aga t2 made a perfect coil and wick was great did something wrong and burnt taste then popped coil now i am going through a ton of wire trying to get the coil right again keep getting hot spot but normally just the top wrap as i do put a small kink in the wire to prevent a hot leg to center post that spot is good but the top wrap seems to always get hot and now i am going through wire and mesh like crazy any helpful hints please

I have the same problem. It seems that either a small spring and a washer, or 2 washers on the centerpost should do wonders. I guess it makes the kanthal going freely from the centerpost shorter

I think that you misunderstood what I was saying. It is the top coil that gets hot not the wire between the coil and the post

This phenomenon that you are seeing is common and called a "hotspot". Usually this indicates that the coils need to be adjusted in spacing. Make sure you arent pinching the wick with the coil.

make sure the top coil is tight against the wick. When you attached the wire to the post make sure it's the left side of the post so that when you tighten the nut it will not push the wire back towards the wick.
