I hate to tell you this, but it's against the Law to have a Contest that requires a Purchase to enter... Sorry!!!
Actually the federal law on lottery's covers those contests broadcast by TV or Radio. It does not at this time apply to the internet.

I would be more then happy to offer an alternate entry option, but I doubt the postcards would get here before the giveaway is scheduled to end.

Actually email would work better than "postcards". You just insured that I won't be a customer of yours specifically because of how you answered her, and you've been disliked on Facebook now, You made it all of a few days on my liked list......GREAT JOB!!

Sorry you feel that way. I didn't go with email as I want to make sure I am dealing with real live people. Not bot's phishing for another hit.

The entire online game is new too me. Really striving for a Brick & Mortar location.

No offence was intended in my response to Spacekitty. Just sharing what my understanding of the "federal lottery" law.

My qwerp is not with you explaining your understanding of the law..........it was solely about the "postcards" remark. It comes off as being very "smarmy" (for lack of being about to say anything else). Plenty of vendors, here on ECF, use email as a way to take entries for contests, and from what I've read on here, they have no issues with phishing, bots or false emails.

I feel like our community is VERY trustworthy. Its THAT trust that allows us a respected Classified section, a highly used (and loved) PIF sub-forum for trading and also keeps vendors and members coming back to throw great contests (such as yours).

I have been entering online Contests for many years, and it seems to me that all of the same regulations still apply... maybe even more so, since there are also State Laws involved, too. Plus, calling it a "Lottery" involves a whole different set of Rules... like having to be a non-profit org. for starters!! :D

Here is an article that was written back in 2007:

http://www.lacba.org/Files/LAL/Vol30No5/2395.pdf

And as far as email entries go... you could always have people reply with their ECF screen name... ;)

(I just noticed that the OP has been edited, and the Rules have changed...)
