Ok got my aga-t2 all setup and working nice! I figured the ohms was perfect. I have a 3/4 coil wrap on 32awg nichrome. This was until I read the ohms from the bottom of the aga-t2. When I test the the where the coil hooks up it is 1.4ohm but when i try to read ohms @ the base atty connector its 4.7ohms. so where is the extra resistance coming from? i checked center post @ the bottom to the top coil + post and its "ol" no resistance. but when i check from the base ground connector to the negitive coil connector i get 3.1ohms. this test the same with wick installed or not installed.

I decided to check mine and I got more consistent readings. If I just connect mine to my vamo to get the reading from the mod, it reads 2.1 ohms. If I use the meter at where the coil connections are, it reads 1.8ohms. If i test using the bottom center post and the ground on the top, it reads 1.8 also. If I test the bottom center post with the threads it tests as 2.2

I am using 5 wraps of twisted 32 kanthal. It vapes crappy on my vamo but fantastic on my bombshell stinger

Well I think I found my problem. It took a full tear down. I found that my center tube on the bottom was not screwed in too well. I think the extra resistance was either some cutting oil on the threads or just loose. Now that I have cleaned it up with hot water dried and reassembled. My ohms match @ the coil and from the bottom atty connector. My ohms meter now reads 0.1 when connected to upper and lower ground. I now only have a .2ohm difference between the readings of the coil connections, and @ the 510 connection. coil reads 1.4ohm and the 510 connector reads 1.6ohm.

My advice is to any one that gets a aga-t2, DO NOT rely on it being right from the factory. Take your time, tear it down wash and clean threads. and reassemble. I have heard of the top and bottom caps being so loose that the fluid leaks out on the first fill as well!

Thanks for the help guys!!!! and keep on vaping!

some people are complaining about getting hot spot that are hard to get rid of, are you experiencing this? I'm still debating on either getting this or the aga hydra and both of them seem to have their own problems

Yeah I like to wash everything thoroughly before using it. They tend to leave a lot of machining oil and the likes on the metal. My A7's had wick (probably with primer of some kind) and the device itself was just covered in liquid. Nasty.

There are ways around the hotspot issue. The top lead is usually the cause, so reduce the distance the wire has to travel (lean the wick & coil lightly towards positive pole or use washers) or reduce the resistance by wrapping the leg with more resistance wire after wrapping the positive pole.

The first version AGA-T are notorious for the hot leg problem, between the top coil wrap and the + connection. The reason is because of the distance between the wick and the center post. The solution is: Take your AGA-T with you to an Ace Hardware, or some other hardware store that has a lot of "drawer hardware", and find some small stainless steel flat washers. Home Depot or Lowes won't have them. Get the smallest ones that will fit the threaded post. Put 2 washers between the 1st and 2nd nut. When you make the top connection, put the wire between the washers, and snug up the top nut. The washers will reduce the distance between the + connection and the wick.

i had to same problems with the ohms and the top leg hot spot. i followed couple of advice from different people and this is my set up: 20130321_175626.jpg

i made sure that the top leg wasnt being pulled too tight. In my opinion that cause most of my hot spot and the i used 2 washers and had the wire in between them then tightened the screw. the washers lessened the distance between the wick and the center post. I then used a long nose plier and slowly pulled the wick up and down wire firing the device to make all the other coils glow evenly. This set up has worked for me so good than i did it to my other aga t2s. Now they are vaping like a champ!! I have them at about 4 wraps with 32 gauge kanthal at 1.7-1.8 ohms. Vaping at 4.5 volts. Hope you get yours sorted out :)
