im trying to wrap my first ever working coil and its not happening, i have 30 gauge kanthal and at 8 wraps im only at .6 ohms. nomatter how many wraps i do i have low ohms and if i ever get the ohms high enough to fire, the second i fire it drops to .6-.8, theres no contact on anything but positive to negative. im using a vamo v3, and now on my 13th coil. sigh. help!

I had the same problem when I got my aga t2. If I remember right I had to make the wick thinner so it was a little loose in the hole.just a little though. Also I found that if I make my coil off the aga it worked better for me.

Are you using the set screw to hold the bottom of the coil in? Try using the screw closest to the wick hole. After watching pbusardos video with the aga t2 where he used that one it totally changed my results.
Good luck! Just keep trying and remember to vape while you work. You'll need it lol

already using the wickhole closest to post, but going to shrink my wick down a little and see if it helps

after following those instructions step by step i had a working 3/4 wrap 1.3 ohm normal coil, but the top was hot, i tried working the hotspot out but after a while i gave up and tried wrapping another, followed steps again but having same problem as before, 3/4 wrap gives me .6, go to 5 wraps and it stays at .6. i gave up after 6 hours of coil wrapping to go back to the protank 2 i originally was using.

Make sure the wick isn't touching the bottom of the tank as well.

i made sure it wasnt laying anywhere near the bottom.

The reason it is only 0.6-0.8 ohms is because you are getting a hotspot/short. You are not getting the full resistance of all of your coils because your mesh is conducting electricity either in the first or second wrap. Did you do a juice burn after you oxidized? That is a step that most vids will say is an 'optional step,' but it really seems to be the difference between a working coil and hot spots.

Another good way to test your coils is to take the mesh out and set what the resistance is. Fire the coil a few times and put the mesh wick back in. Whenever you see a hot spot, move the coil underneath it a hair and mess with it a bit. A large part of wrapping a working genesis coil is just pulsing it and moving the coils around. Unfortunately, it is a very frustrating and tedious process.

~chuckle~ I had the very same problem with my AGA! I tried for hours to get it to work. No matter what i did i would get some voltage reading and then 'low load'.. no matter how many coils I wrapped or tweaked. The problem finally ended up being the wick itself. I had made the wick too tight in the hole. I rolled the wick a bit tighter and no more problem.

I had problems at first with the AGA-T2, top coil glowing, not wicking, low omhs. Put a small washer under the top nut and reduce the lead going to the positive post. Getting a good rolled wick is not as easy as it looks, and some experimenting and practice is needed. Use a device that doesn't have a resistance cut off (mech mod) and short pulses at first, to get the coil glowing evenly is the key for a proper firing coil. Have some patience and don't give up, it will be worth the effort.
