Ok I have a micro coil setup for my aga t3 (30 gauge wire ohms just read a 2.7 on a provari mini) at 4.0 volts and I have gone thru 3 organic cotton wicks within a 24 hr period and the top portion keeps coming off of my wick I don't know why.... I was thinking because the wick is heavy with fluid and gravity keeps trying to pull down on it but how would I be able to fix that

The coil should hold it in place, then again I don't know much about the Aga-T3 (I only have a T2). Hopefully someone will come along with some better info.

It seems to me cotton gets very fragile/brittle when it gets cooked - even when its not necessarily burnt. You could be cooking the cotton right at the coil and then its simply falling off. You can try building your coils with a gap in the middle to keep the cotton in the center from getting over cooked. That is what I have had to do with some of my larger coil-higher resistance build. They still work great and perform as you would expect a microcoil to perform.

Something like this: |||/||| (7 wrap with the 4th wrap pulled over half a millimeter or so.

Thanks I'll give this a try and see if it will help keep my cotton from breaking off

I haven't done a cotton micro coil on a genesis type atty although I want to try it eventually. I saw a video and the guy made his cotton wick thinner going through the coil and into the tank, but then it was poofier and much fuller of cotton above the coil to keep it from slipping down. Sorry I don't have a link to the video at the moment, but makes sense to me that it would help you.

I have been fooling with cotton wicks in micro coils on a genesis style atty for about a week now. I have had good luck with my last few set ups. The amount of cotton is the art of it. I never leave much cotton at the top, 3mm-4mm at the most, and I fluff the top. I use enough to make good contact with the coil but now so much that when saturated the coil is strangling it. too much cotton had me pulling my hair on my first night messing with it. I basically roll it into a cone shape. Narrow tip that expands to a diameter that fits the coil at the top, so I don't end up with a bottom heavy wick.

However, the wick hole on the T3 looks sort of cavernous so my method may not work for you. Please update your progress, I'd really like to try one of these, I hear the flavor is great and would like to know what the leaking situation is like with a cotton build.
