AGA Tiamat Plus / Tiamat 2

As I understand it, the Tiamat Plus and Tiamat 2 are the same product... I'm looking for a rose by any other name, an affordable rebuildable with a tank system, something that I could purchase along with SS mesh and Kanthal, and get up and running for 60-70 USD. Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Haha yeah, DV was where I first found them, but Eric's been out of stock for a while, now... however, as DV seems to have the best offering, I think I'm going to wait a bit and see if they come in. I really don't want to have to sand my tank

I think they've changed the method of which they were producing the glass, as to reduce the rough edges.

I got 3 of the original styled glass and while they aren't perfect, you never see those edges and none of them are rough enough to cause havoc (IE cut the o-ring). I have 4 of the newer ones coming in too.

Stock should be slowly trickling back in now that the Chinese New Year is over.

Just for reference, you probably won't be finding the AGA-T v1 any where (screw on top cap).

AGA-T+ has a plastic tank
AGA-T2 has a glass tank

Some vendors will offer glass with the Plus, which can add to the strangeness. I've accidentally dropped the glass in the sink and no ill effects, so I personally see no reason to even offer a plastic tank.

Thanks, Thompson. I've read a few posts complaining that the glass with the T2 needed to be sanded, leaked, or must have been cut with an axe. Eric over at DV was offering the T+ with a glass replacement tank because the replacement tanks had fired edges and no issues. I guess we'll see how the next shipment looks
