Interesting. I actually have a rotation cycle for my A-list ADVs that I take to work. Because I love em so much and never want to tire of them (and it's nice to look forward to them too), I'll ADV Smooth Criminal one day, Boba's Bounty the next, and Dragon Fire the next, and so on. Anything that makes it into this cycle and stays is cream of all crops. Then I tend to fill other days with those I think belong only a little below that list - Deal maker, Desperado for instance. After work, I vape a little of everything else I like.

Hmmm....I like your rotation schedule. My ADV is about 1/2 a day then I switch to something else. I'm going to try this and put my favorites into some kind of rotation.

:offtopic: My Castle Long Reserve from five pawns is out for delivery. Should be interesting. "You'll taste toasted coconut, roasted almond, two kinds of vanilla (actual vanilla bean and French), Kentucky Bourbon, and obviously oak."

Obviously oak, huh? guess it's cos it's aged in an oak barrel. Hope the bourbon is set way back. Not a big booze vaper.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program :p

this description is right up my alley

been seeing it around the forum the last week or so its on my must try soon list
but I've got a bit of juice to go through first

Def interested on your thought of this one

Each day isn;t set in stone but the one rule is to avoid the same ADV for two consecutive days. What I like about it, is that my all-time favs remain my all-time favs, and I find myself looking forward to them in a way I didn't when I'd casually have a little of each fav every day.

I don't know, I have a lot of flavors in rotation...I like to switch it up, but there are staples for sure. Coco Berry Cream, Fijian Nights (don't know why this one does not get more love, it is fantastic), Strawberry Vanilla Cake, Red White and Blueberry, Pink Label Juice...and hopefully soon, Raspberry Cream and the two Lassis, which I ordered today, along with a small bottle of Sweet Cherry Something and a sample bottle of Strawberry Banana Cream! Yay! Cause I have been vaping the heck out of that Papaya Lassi, nom!! :p

Maple Dream is also fantastic, I don't need any waffle juices or anything like that, just give me my Maple Dream! ;)

Bukket- Thank you for the responses, I thought not but I wanted to be sure...

I really hope they start working on my order from Wednesday soonish...I'd love to get the Lassis before I leave for vacation, but not sure that will happen... Still hoping though!

If they age it in a barrel, do they add nic later? A barrel for each level of nic? They gave me a choice. I chose 12mg, like all my Ahl's, except one XPress SC is 18mg.
I believe it's a barrel for each level of NIC and the B&M gets one of the barrels used for the juice they sell as a counter/pos display and conversation BS tool. :) This also makes sense from a mixing perspective. You should be fine on your NIC choice.

/returning to the "cult" talk.

LOL

Well then, I will never get to try it as one B&M here and they would never carry it. :(

I have an off topic question....

I love Orient Whisper and Mango Lassi in Vivi Novas. I have bought a few replacement coils only to find each set looks different and only 1 set has seemed to work well with the 2 VN's I have that I won on a show and so cannot purchase replacement coils (from them) or ask them about it because I don't remember what company sent them - this was months ago, before I even knew anything beyond a cigalike. Is there some way to tell which VN heads/coils are right for the particular one you have? They don't all look the same...

Ok, it's a fairly hyped juice: "reserve" by request, or select sellers, and all that. A lot to live up to. So does it?

When you first crack the bottle open, after taking it out of the canister (always a pleasure in my book. Guess I'm a packaging ho. Feel the same about Apple's - go ahead flame your worst :p ), the nose is incredible. Every bit what you'd expect from the tasting notes. The coconut first, the vanillas, and some very pleasant bourbon at the back of your sinuses. So far so very good.

The vape: even better. Like the nose but evened out, with the almond coming into the picture. Coconut subdued now, very wisely cos it can easily dominate a juice. Not sure if I can distinguish the two vanillas but they blend into a unique vanilla. The bourbon finish only occasionally teasing your taste buds and your nose. Far from boozy. At the end all of the flavors lingering on your tongue, so in between pulls is just as enjoyable as the vape.

Yes, I'm gushing, but this juice deserves it. It reminds me of when I tried Gambit for the first time. Will CLR have legs, like Gambit? I'm pretty confident it will. Perhaps it's not for everyone. It's got a fairly sophisticated, "grown-up" air. I know. That sounds ridiculously snobbish - sounds like I'm fluffing myself for liking it, but I don't know how else to put it.

end :offtopic:

Edit: I always "bounce" new flavors off Smooth Criminal, largely cos I'm always vaping it anyway. Can't seem to stay away from the stuff. Well, SC right after CLR is fantastic. It truly is. It really pulls the tobacco forward and meshes very well with the lingering flavors. I'd say that's a nice bonus!

Caramel Wild Wood is in da house! :)

Will report on it in about three weeks. :(

In other news, Peach River Tree has also arrived (for comparison vaping against Peach Wild Wood); 30ml of Gold Member are now nestled and aging in my Vape Station; and 60 ml of Jungle Juice are now resting comfortably (unopened -- JJ is a reverse steeper) in the same place. (90mls of Sahara Blend and 30ml of JG Blend keeping everybody in line in there!)

Yours will beat mine by a good margin, so I'll be keen to see your impressions before mine is ready. Mine didn't ship out today, in spite of only ordering one item. Only got the auto-response. It will be my first Wild Wood.

Mozzer, I'm legitimately happy that you found love in Five Pawns. That said, they're marketers through and through, and they're good at that game (at least against the limited competition available among vaping vendors). I suspect they manage to convince consumers that they're tasting what isn't actually there, though. Or maybe I'm bummed because their stuff isn't special to me. I'd love to conduct a blind taste test somewhere though, and would strongly bet against a single person successfully identifying "two types of vanilla" without that florid cheat sheet to prime their fantasies. Heck, I wouldn't believe that actual vanilla bean is involved at any step in the process due to cost (they're $50 a pound or so) until I actually see it.

Edit: Come to think of it, I can imagine Wlad reverse engineering their line. I'd love to see those results. I'm a behavioral psych buff, and that would provide perfect data points for the blind tasting.

There may very well be something to what you're saying about the image being suggestive. A snotty boutique, etc. I've even proven, to a degree, what expectation can do, when I thought I was vaping Desperado, and was really vaping Pineapple USD cake. Still laughing at that one.

And yes, Rodney is primarily a marketing guy. He does a great job at it. He may have painted himself into a corner a bit with the name Five Pawns - implying that there are only 5 "special" juices. What will happen when he wants to expand? Maybe that's also partly why they don't publicize CLR on their site. More clever marketing, to be sure.

Do I feel special for buying and liking them? I don't think so. If that were the case, I wouldn't continue to vape them. In the end, it's only me who knows if I really like them or not. Gambit genuinely is one of my very favorite juices. But that's only two of the five, the other being Queenside, that I'll actually re-order. I sincerely think the others are fairly special, too, just not to my personal liking.

I have to disagree about tasting what isn't there. You can't get away with simply suggesting it. I'm sure Wlad would tell you the same. It's definitely there. It just might not matter to some.

Ooh, I'm jealous of your order, too, EleanorR.

Hee hee. Thanks! :)

I'm surprised that no one (including me!) ever talks about Jungle Juice; it is easily an EDV for me, but even I have never formally reviewed it! It's simply a terrific medium-bodied tobacco (similar to the tobacco in JG Blend) paired with a distinct but unobtrusive fresh slightly ripe banana. Not sweet. Not dry. Not aggressive. Never tires!:banana:

That sounds really good. Reminds me a bit of Coffee Monkey, the only remaining VV juice I'll touch. I'm sure Jungle Juice would be far better. Another one for the wish list! thanks for describing it :)

Oh I can cite several instances of the power of suggestion convincing people that they taste/smell/see/hear what isn't there. Obviously there are limits as even your experience with PUSD proved. Interestingly, you did indeed taste fruit though didn't suspect you weren't vaping Desperado and definitely didn't pinpoint the prominent flavor in the profile: pineapple. The mind is super impressionable. And I mean all minds, not yours. Nothing to be ashamed of at all in that incident, as it could and probably has happened to all of us. I'm not trying to diminish your perspective on Five Pawns either -- only riffing on a topic close to my heart. I first tried them about a week or two into this, and I know for a fact that the fantasy they work to produce through packaging and product description served its purpose with me. There I was, self conscious about being clowned by scientist pals for inhaling unknown and unregulated compounds -- "smoke juice" -- which was already a running joke among them, and 5P arrives looking like top shelf scotch and sounding like a tasting menu at Alinea. It provided the legitimacy I needed then. Later I tried the same steeped samples and decided I didn't like any enough to buy in bulk. Anyhow, while I agree that suggestion alone won't allow you to taste shrimp scampi in a menthol blend, it can theoretically convince us we're tasting two types of extracted vanilla bean when all there actually is a budget baker's trusty bottle of imitation. Especially when we've paid well for the experience.

Random aside: Mentioning Alinea spurred a thought. Will we one day see a tasting menu restaurant like it offer custom blend vape pairings per course? I'd love that.

EleanorR- let me know how that Gold Member is! I've been wanting to try it, but have had others higher on my list...for now! ;)

FP: Gold Member is CANDY!!! Pure, dark, sweet, salted caramel! Caramel Eureka!

I love having scores of Ahlusion 10ml bottles on hand, so I can have frequent flavor breaks in between my EDV vapes . . . I expected Gold Member to be just another yummy 10ml flavor for me.

But NOOOOOOO, it went almost immediately (well, after 4 weeks' aging!) to 30ml bottle status for me! It is the ONLY non-tobacco I have in my 30ml bottle arsenal! :)
