I am so glad that you made it out there and had a good trip. Rough time of the year to travel that route. East Bay is good, not as pretty as the 280 corridor but hey, you have time off to ride the coast and explore.

Your whole post just made me feel happy for you. I hope you get settled in quickly. Eat some of that great food out there for me. Maybe a crab feast at Fisherman's Wharf? Scoma's is not worth it though. There used to be a couple of good hole in the wall places on the wharf that sold fish on the sidewalk and had a diner type restaurant. Cheaper and food is better. Take care.

ShariR- Best and freshest grilled Halibut I ever had was at Scoma's. Been about 15 years ago though.
Did you ever get over to Johnny Foley's on O'Farrell? Good stuff on tap.

Vagabond- What were you vaping on the trip and did the inside of your windshield ever get a film on it? If yes, what did/do you clean it with?

I moved back to CT from the Bay Area back in 92 and have only been able to get back out there a couple of times over the past 20 years. Oh, do I miss it though. Sigh......... I would not eat a salad in CT during the winter for years. I got spoiled out there. There used to be a Columbus Restaurant on the street of the same name right near Broadway. They had the best fried calamari and also the best sweetbreads I have ever had. Every payday a friend and I would eat there. I do not remember the pub you mention. It has been so many years, but those were my young days so if it was there, I would have been there at some point.

Every pay period my roommate and I would eat at a different restaurant in a different neighborhood in the city. All ethnicities, all price points. Some of the best food and times ever. We also would go to an international smoke shop once a week and buy a different international pack of cigarettes and an English version of a foreign newspaper (not as many choices).

Makes me think that I was flavor sampling decades before tasting liquids now. I should be a tobacco expert but do not remember most of the exotic tobaccos I explored back then. Knowledge lost over time.

I hit a random key and this is probably going to look like I am shouting. Don't know how to fix it back, so please excuse me.

I think I remember Mr.Mann commenting some time back about a bottle of Caramel Pear Black Tea being well past its prime at around 1 year 4 months. I think it took a trip down the drain if I remember correctly. The Smooth Criminal was still fabulous, I think.

I'm vaping a bottle of Caramel Pear Black Tea that says best by 07/2013. It is awesome! It was in the stash that I found.

Mocha arrived this morning! I have it in 2 tanks. One on my Provari and the other on a MVP2. Vaping one while the other steeps. I also filled a tank with the Mimosa Pomegranate sample. I plan on getting a large bottle but didn't want to order it until I get my coupon code so I chose it for my sample. I love Ahlusion's pomegranate.

I ordered 2 of the Provari tank rings from Provape. They are really nice. I can put my tanks on flush and they get plenty of air flow. Definitely worth the $8!

I didn't let it steep at all. Just popped it in. I've never had to steep anything before, it's always been good FOB. lol. So you are saying, let this bad boy sit in the back of my fridge for a month and give it another shot?

90PG/10VG

The 90PG will make it have a lot more flavor. But the good part is it steeps faster. Wlad (Ahlusion's owner) doesn't recommend putting juice in a fridge. It should be kept cool and in the dark if you aren't using it soon. More like the temp of a wine cooler. I've thought about getting a wine cooler since I have so many bottles. It would be easier to arrange plus it would stay at a constant temperature.

Since you want your juice to steep put it in a cupboard and shake it occasionally. I would give it 2 weeks and then taste it again. You should try the Stardust now. It could be one that you like fresh! Generally though most flavors benefit from a 2 week steep and others can take 6 weeks. I've had a lot of flavors that I thought were horrible FOB and couldn't imagine liking them. But now I know that they can change a lot in a few weeks and turn out to be a favorite flavor.

Don't give up on it too soon. I have flavors that I only like after 4 months! So give it at least a couple of months before you PIF.

Another order home now. Lime Cream, aaaahhhh Vurley and Lemon Ginger Iced Tea.
A lover of the Lemon Cream and Lime Cream, someone on another thread mentioned a cardboard taste on the front end...I get that slight taste now out of the mail prior to a uc bath and short rest. Never much thought of it until he made me ! Still 2 of my all time favorites though. Especially in the Origen dripper...ohhh the flavor, so perfect.

I'll trade you my last few ml of Caramel Wild Wood for your Origen dripper. I'll even throw in some very well steeped Desperado

So glad you got to where you're going safe and sound.
And probably wise passing by the you know what store -- I imagine an army of troopers on the other side of the state line just itching to pull over every car that crosses.

Thank you!

I thought the same but I didn't see a single police car between Denver and Salt Lake City. Wyoming is focusing more on impaired drivers coming over the border per their comments in the newspapers. It's not very feasible to stop a bunch of vehicles traveling 70mph on a major interstate however they will sometimes put up signs saying something like "drug checkpoint ahead" on the interstate but set up all their cars at the very next exit and search those who get off the highway. Kansas has been reportedly setting up stops on I-70 east about 60 miles from the Colorado state line.

Thanks much!

Scoma's, that's the one right on the water isn't it? I've been there before and it was good but pricey. I think just buying crab from the vendors on the wharf is the way to go. Big crustaceans for a decent price. I need to see if I can get together with one of my acquaintances in the city and have him show me some spots. At some point I'd like to tour the Armory in the Mission district, it's for the black/gray handkerchief carrying crowd. I'll have to look up the 280 to see where that goes as I'm not familiar with it.

There's also several vape shops in the Mission I was recommended, one with an attached Filipino restaurant that I hear carries a bunch of Filipino ejuices. And I would like to try a "mission burrito" from La Taqueria, I read about it on a food list the other day.

On the drive out the only bad weather I encountered was in Kansas, high winds and sleet.

Hope your roof is coming along well.

All my juices are 70VG/30PG unless I got them premixed. I was vaping Vapor Chef's Black Pompom, Coolcumber Melon; Alice in Vapeland's Frost Blossom and 'Twas Brillig; G2's Vazilla and Purple Nurple; Ahlusion's Tiramisu. I wanted to load up my Zing! but I didn't know which storage tub I put my Kayfun's metal tank section in because it's a tank cracker.

I didn't seem to have any trouble with residue on the windows but I do vape with the window cracked. If I had to clean the windows I think I would try some Windex first or any kind of automotive glass cleaner rated to clean grease/tobacco from windows. I'm also a fan of the Rain-X line of products. They used to make a product to prevent fogging up on the inside (Fog-X) that may help.

I'd have to say I prefer being east of the Mississippi River, preferably New England. I think my favorite job was in a tiny northern Maine town with a population of less than 5000. I am missing Ohio a bit since reconnecting with my sister after a 7 year hiatus. But I do need a place with fairly fresh seafood access.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could get Wlad to make just a lemon iced tea. I'm not sure I would like it with ginger. Anyone know what kind of tea they use in the Lemon Ginger Iced Tea?

I do need to get some more Coco-Berry Cream, the best Ahlusion cream EVER!

I think as soon as I empty a tank I'm going to load up my Ahlusion Mocha. It should be well steeped by now.

Maine is lovely in the summer. I could not do the winters though. I loved San Francisco when I was living there in my 20s. Back in the late 70s and 80s. When you go out to the Mission District go from about 18th St. through around 26th St. There are Bart stops at I think I remember 16th St and Mission and 24th St. and Mission. La Taqueria is somewhere around 18th St. if I remember right. There are a couple of wonderful Spanish restaurants on 24th St. south of Mission and if you follow 24th St. up to Church St. (about 4 blocks) there is a vibrant little community with cheese shops, wine shops, coffee shops. I used to live there. 4 blocks up from 24th St. and Church is Castro St. Follow that down toward market and there is another wonderful community. Back in the 70s and 80s that is where they shut the streets down for several blocks and had the huge Halloween parades. They also have some great clubs down on Polk St. from Geary down to Lombard St. Sorry, too much off topic. PM me. I lived out there for 15 years. I know it has changed some but I hope the core of the neighborhoods remains. That is what makes San Francisco so special.

Hahaha! Can't do it. You really need to buy one. I've been through many drippers and gave up for 6 months until this. I'm not really focused on dripping and don't use them to sample...to much work :).
I use it when I want a quick massive amount of nic coursing through my veins. Norbert the builder is just a nice man.

Ps - we do have Costco :)

I believe it is a black tea and grab a sample, the ginger does not dominate the juice. Very faint and I couldn't pick it out of I didn't know.

Ok, in my new apartment in the California east Bay Area and damn are there a lot of vape shops out here! In the course of driving 2500ish miles in four days all I used were my Kayfun's. From just above sea level in Ohio to the mile high city of Denver/northern Nevada mountains back down to sea level and not a single bit of leaking/flooding/gurgling. Of course driving makes the elevation changes much more gradual than something like flying.

I was using a KFL+, KFL+ v2 and a Russian 91% on my Provari (in 18650 mode since I list my 490 cap in my accident) and my Electric Angel mech with an 18650. Since I was driving for days I tried to have 3 different moods of juices in my tanks. Something for the morning like a coffee, something fruity for the day and something sweet should the mood hit me. I normally only vape around 3-4ml's per day, maybe 6ml's when driving like this, with 3 tanks I didn't have to refill much. However I did find myself in a bit of a juice funk somewhat like SharonMM several weeks back. I just got bored with what I had.

I managed to find a nice vape shop just outside St. Louis as it was just down the street from the hotel I stayed in. I really wanted to visit one of the you-know-what shops in Denver but I was good and kept driving. I swung by one of the ElectroNicStix stores in Salt Lake City (one of only 2 companies selling the ZNA) to pick up a gunmetal 18490 tube for my ZNA (whenever it gets mailed to me from home) and a couple juices. I'm enjoying G2 Vapors "Vazilla" from their Prime line, it's a vanilla butterscotch. Although the G2 "Purple Nurple" is a good grape candy it's hard to vape much at a time.

I swung by a local vape shop yesterday and it was nice to see them actually talk me out of buying something. I've never been much of a dripper but I figured "when in Rome..." and wanted something along the lines of a Cali style nuclear cloud blowing RDA with variable air flow. Just to play around with. One of the guys at the store told me to hold off because they didn't have anything to satisfy that desire. They even let me try their testers of the new Five Pawns line even though they don't have any to sell yet. I haven't used a clearo in a while and ended up spilling one of the 5P samples  The salesman even recommended some vape shops he frequents in SF, San Jose and Hayward.

I bought a few bottles of juice, one that tastes like a Girl Scouts Samoa cookie, Provari flush fit ring & 18490 cap and some other odds and ends. It was really cool to actually see some mods that I've only seen online being sold in a shop. Chi You, UVO's, King mods and Pinoy stuff I've never heard of. They even had the quartz glass upgrades for the Kayfun. At the local store they were either vaping drippers or Kayfuns.

I will say though that at each vape shop I stopped by I played Ahlusion "you gotta try these guys" ambassador. Have to give some love to Ahlusion wherever I go and spread the good word:p

WELL you shoulda popped by and said hello and had a vape if you were in Denver :). Funny thing is that I rock a legit EA with a KL+ clone, and that sucker leaks like a sieve through the mountain passes. My fiancee and I went away for a couple days to a cabin in Buena Vista which sits at about 9500' and we live at about 5400' in the suburbs. Every damn mountain pass (which are in the 10-11,000+ range) the kayfun and a couple of protanks would leak. Drove me a bit batty. You certainly didn't miss anything with regard to our vape shops, but our other vape shops are quite impressive :p.

EDIT - Good call on not transporting out of state though, I haven't had any good reason to leave the state for a minute and didn't know that about the checkpoints....I'd say it's silly, but I've known too many friends to actually get into car wrecks driving while under the other type of vape - though, not all of us are a mile high here :nun:)

Yes Forsyth County boomed in the late 90's early 2000's.
People found out how cheap houses are in the south and a lot of industry moved this way. Forsyth was the last northern county (still considered metro) that had room for development. It is also the wealthiest county in GA.
Little 5 points is the pinnacle of culture in my opinion, hippy -ish. Regular 5 points is mostly knock off Louis Vuitton and hustlers.
I am and always will be a Cali girl at heart so I do not fit in. I have worked hard at NOT acquiring a southern accent so I am always called a Yankee. When I am called out for having an accent, I try to point out that I have an absence of accent, it goes over as well as me trying to explain that I am not a Yankee because I am from the west not the north, no matter. I am not from the south so I am a Yankee.
I would probably fit in better in the city but I am out here in the country...where is that cartoon with the boat running from the banjo's? That is fitting.

Hello guys, it's been a while. I see I have thousands of post to catch up to. Anyway, here's a quick breakdown of the last flavors I've ordered:

Winter Wild Wood- tastes almost exactly like a menthol cough drop accompanied by the wildwood base. I didn't like it all, but those who love to suck on Halls should enjoy this. It reminds me a bit of Bengay. It will clear your sinuses and stay with you long after you're finished vaping.

Vanilla Wild Wood- very nice and creamy vanilla perfectly balanced with the wildwood base. It almost tastes like one singular flavor. I like this one quite a bit, but not as much as Caramel WW. I'll probably request it with extra vanilla next time I order it.

Tell-a-nut- tastes a little bit like nutella but not quite. I get more of a pronounced chocolate liqueur flavor with some hazelnut. Definitely not for me.

Sweet Chill- I ordered it with the recommended "Chill" level. I get a nice minty flavor accompanied by a heavy dose of "Tiger Balm" like menthol. Like WWW, this is definitely too strong for me. It seems Ahlusion's menthols are just not my cup of tea. :(

Ice Kiss (unsweetened)- This one tastes almost exactly like those creamy "Thank you" mints one gets with their tab on restaurants. I was very surprised by this one and liked it a lot. Maybe next time I'll ask for a tad more mint and for it to be slightly sweetened.

Sweet Cherry Something- This is hands down the best cherry flavor I've tried so far. Still, I'm not very fond of fruity vapes and find it to be a bit boring for my tastes.

Maple Dream- I thought it tasted almost exactly like maple sugar. Unfortunately, I don't think that particular flavor translates quite well into a vape. It honestly made me grimace as I vaped it.

On a side note, I recently vaped some fully steeped Desperado and was quite impressed by its transformation. While I didn't care much for it at first, now I find it to be very good and better than its cousin Smooth Criminal. :)

I see Wlad came out with a few new tobacco flavors. I'm curious about Just Criminal, I just hope its chocolate component isn't like the one in Deal Maker, which I sort of loathe. Any opinions on it or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Peace out. :vapor:

Depending on when you purchased your VWW you might want to try this one again without Extra Vanilla. I ordered a 30 ML Bottle, I believe on January 05th, and I was on the fence with it. Due to two individuals in this thread I really needed to try this one again so I ordered a 10 ML Bottle and it was WOWSERS (Apparently they tweaked the formula).

I am thankful I tried this one again since I adore VWW and Vanilla Black Tea.

Is Johnny Foley's the place on the cross street of Divisadero? The one with multiple levels and all kinds of beer on tap. Large place on the corner? It is also a tourist attraction and used to be quite busy. They had all kinds of interesting stuff on the walls, before the chain restaurants used to do that sort of thing. Is that it? Was thinking about it last night after reading your post.

ShariR- Best and freshest grilled Halibut I ever had was at Scoma's. Been about 15 years ago though.
