Thanks for the offer ya'll, very nice! :) Very sweet!

the_vape_nerd- not in NOLA, near Lafayette, but not far! I do make it there though, love NOLA! Ordered some e juice from there, including yummy King Cake vape! :p

Went to ortho today, need surgery on both elbows to move my dysfunctional nerves...Start with the right one first, then the left after that one has healed. Then maybe address neck problems, so glad I did not get into rba! LOL! Really glad!

And I agree, Ahlusion is just fantastic!

Ok.. thanks for the commentary about mechs, yall. So I'm thinking its maybe a little premature for me to get a mech right now. Seems like you need to be pretty masterful with the coil building and I just built my first one on a phoenix clone over the weekend.. Holla! Lol.

It was a rush too.. like firing it up and seeing the coils all glowing uniformly. I really didn't think I'd be able to do it.. and I had a helluva time getting the wires underneath those teeny screws.. but it works. So maybe next I will try to rebuild some protank heads for practice. Plus I think I'm pretty sold on the IGO-L. Looks like it may be a little easier to maneuver with bigger screws and holes in the posts.

I have a tough time wrapping my mind around 20+ watts not burning juice. I rarely go above 7w on a 1.8ohm coil.. so how that math works out is still a mystery to me. As are most things mech/rda/rba.

I'm not really unsatisfied with my plug n vape stuff either. But I think at some point, I will "need" to try a mech just to know what its about. If dripping is any indicator, I think I understand the popularity of lower nic juices. This little dripper burns a lot of juice fast, and I've vaped myself queasy several times already.

It was so liberating though, being able to construct my own coil.

The Igo L I got a couple from fasttech they have been great easier to rebuild then phoenix but both of those are easier then T3's and evods

The one thing I noticed with the Igo is when I put a drip tip I had previously in the pull got much better
The one that comes with it is too loose and does not create enough suction Maybe can be fixed with another o ring

I love both the phoenix and the Igo

wrapping them is the easy part...agree that getting them in the freaking hole is the pain in the .... part

I had two cervical discs removed and multiple-level fusion done about a year ago- so I really can empithize with you. I'm just now getting the feeling back in my right hand. I personally picked a pretty inopportune time to jump into RBA's, but I'm do glad I did! Really good tweezers and a little table top vise were must haves for me.

Hey, if any of you Michigan folks is near the Ahlusion cafe tomorrow around noon or so, stop by and say hi. I'll probably be there for a couple hours trying to distract everyone's favorite flavor chemist from getting your orders done in a timely fashion. Mann and Mo. . .er, Louis. . .come out and play!

I'm sorry, I wouldn't wish this on anyone! Been having problems for almost nine years, now I need a ulnar nerve anterior transposition surgery, so that may help a little! But not with being able to bend over tables, etc. for long periods of time plus if I sit for too long I usually end up with a cervogenic migraine. I'm just tired of fighting with everything, I wish doctors would stop looking at me and seeing an age rather than a human being who's been suffering and getting worse for a long time and has tried everything but can't get better. Maybe someday :( My neck is trying to fuse itself in one spot, shouldn't that be a good indicator?! My discs are black in the MRI, shouldn't that be a bad sign, that maybe they should be proactive! But alas, no...

But they already have taken a lot from me...

Anyways, I am loving Fijian Nights! And Strawberry Vanilla Cake, Kiwi Sea, yum!! :p My mom placed her first order today, she got Blue Fairy and Chocolate Coconut Almond! I'm shocked she got chocolate, LOL! And I get to try Blue Fairy, woohoo! :D

tossed some lime cream into a tank today. about 2 weeks old. glad I waited to try it based off comments from others. nice smooth flavor, not too limey. I was afraid it'd be too lime pinesol tasting lol, but it's very nice :)

I waited and tried the citrus flavors last. I was afraid that they would be tart and I wouldn't care for them. I'm now addicted to a bunch of citrus flavors! They are super clean and fresh. Enjoying my sample of Jump n Jive now. But Cactus Juice is my favorite. I find them great for refreshing my taste buds.

Yeah, tart is something I don't find appealing in juices either! I've been looking at the jump n jive. and i DID just get my coupon in my email lol. i have some arriving on saturday, so after that I'm sure i'll put in another order. I can't help it, i like fruity flavors ;)

I'm 53 and a girl gamer. Although I only play computer games. Mostly RPG's. I also have my 75 year old Mom playing Wow and Diablo 3. Diablo 1 was her absolute favorite. Every time I buy a game I have to buy a copy for me, my husband, and mom. Been thinking about going back to Wow after a year away. I miss my pink haired gnome Mage. I made the mistake of sending mom a wedding dress. She spent a weekend walking around Stormwind crying and everyone who asked she would tell them she was jilted at the altar.

Sorry for getting so far behind! I didn't mean to write a novel

Another girl gamer, HOORAY! Sometimes it seems like there are so few of us. The original Everquest was my intro to MMO's, I miss my little necromancer so much. Then on to WoW from release through Cataclysm and then I just couldn't tolerate it anymore. On to Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Secret World, a very quick foray in Tera, back to SWTOR and now Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn which I'm loving. Try FFXIV:ARR, you may like it as well!

I'm game for sliding downward back to 40! haha I already gave away too much with my talk about the Saints.

oh, but I solo'd Everquest 2 to the cap with 1 death. Does that count? loll
but my fav of all time was Bioshock 1.

Not gaming lately. Who has time? too busy obsessing over vape juice and gear :p

There's always time for gaming! I think the original Everquest is still my favorite even though parts aggravated me to no end. How can you forget people always shouting "Train to zone, watch out!"

best part of gaming now, since i didn't smoke cig's in my house, but NOW I CAN VAPE WHILE I PLAY! I'm still a wow nerd :X

ahh fond memories. In EQ1 I spent a lot of time raiding with a guild. Was such a rush pulling with a monk in Fear or other crazy dungeons. Also had to do corpse runs after a wipe. I had an awesome necro, too.

Still contemplating an Ahlusion order this morning. Think I will hold off until next week.

I gotta ask you guys.. what's the appeal with the mech mods? I started on vv/vw and have found it to be invaluable. Some juices taste a little better higher, some a little lower.. always using 1.8 or 2.2 ohm coils. So I wonder if I would be happy not being able to tweak my vape to where I want it. I think Mozzer's chi is really, really purdy... but I wonder if I'd be disappointed with its functionality. Vain as I am, I can't see myself paying $200+ for a mod based on the pretty etchings and exclusivity... yet.

I love my mech mods, they satisfy my tinkering urges. Girls can tinker too! Growing up I was the only grandchild around and my grandfather and I used to take apart old clocks so I could see how they worked. As a nurse now I guess I "tinker" with sick people fixing their inner workings.

I started off with a VV/VW device (eVic) but it always felt cheap to me. I moved on to a Provari which is still one of my everyday devices but there is something beautiful in the simplicity of a mech mod. My Provari will only fire down to like 0.8 ohms so if you build a coil that is below that all you get is an error message. Lower ohms do drain battery life much more rapidly but they heat up almost instantaneously and depending on the coil/wick combination is can be one of the best vapes you've ever had.

While a pure mech mod the flavor does change as the battery drains its charge. However I use a Kick in all my mechs which gives me a consistent vape all the way through the battery's life. VV devices require you to adjust the voltage setting if you switch atomizers because they may have different resistances. A VW device like the Kick will maintain the same setting no matter the resistance of the atomizer. If I set it to say 8 watts it will keep firing at 8 watts no matter if the resistance is 1.8 ohms or 2.8 ohms.

I'm just getting into micro coils but so far they have been wonderful and will seemingly last for months. I also find them much easier to wrap than say a 3/4 wrap on stainless mesh. I use a 1/16" drill bit to wrap the Kanthal around (28 or 30 gauge), pop it into my Kayfun Lite, light up the coils nice and hot and squeeze the coil together with a pair of tweezers a couple times to make it maintain its shape. If I want to change flavors all I have to do is replace the cotton wick and not worry about wrapping another coil. The Kayfun Lite (and its clone the Russian 91%) have given me a totally different, and quite wonderful, vaping experience.

I will say the only thing I don't like about a mech mod is that sometimes the brass contacts will tarnish and make firing difficult but that is taken care of with a little ultrafine grit sandpaper.

(sorry if I've rambled a bit, just got off work and it's bedtime).

NO, you didn't ramble at all. Great post and I'm really inspired now. It sounds like overall, a mech would provide me a better vaping experience due to the lower ohms and fast heating of the liquid. With my protank/zmini, I'm drawing for a good 5 seconds before I have enough hit to satisfy me. So it would be awesome to have like, instant lung fill.

Man I really want to do this now. Suggestions for a first mech setup anyone? Under $100 please.

Yah, I used to pull for nearly 5 seconds with my eVic and Vamo using Protanks. Much much shorter with mechs and micros.

The Sigelei #8w from Vaportekusa is a really solid mech at a very reasonable price. I have two of them, although I'm sort of phasing them out. My only crit is the buttons are stiff. You'll wind up with one very buff pinky if you use them for long ;) There are ways to improve it, but I haven't bothered.

*Sigelei 8W "Caravella Clone" 18350 Only

I don't agree with calling them a "Caravella Clone" cos they are most certainly nothing like a Caravela, but they're excellent in their own right. They also offer them in a package with an 18650 tube.

Cool.. I guess I'm really more concerned about the atty. Those seem to have more variables so I don't want to get one that's too terribly complicated.. I have an rsst, would be sufficient?

Or.. what variables should I be looking for in a mech? You mentioned the button being stiff.. but what does a floating center pin mean?

Should I get a kick too?

The RSST will be perfect on an 8w. That's the one I first got for it. You can build a cotton micro for the RSST, as well, if you haven't already ;)

The things to look for are adjustability, like the center pin, as you pointed out, the button location and ease of use, and conductivity. A floating center pin just means you can adjust it for varying atty pin lengths. The 8w has a double screw for this purpose. You just back out the larger screw, attach the top cap to the atty, then turn the larger screw in until it stops. This assures a proper connection. You can then unscrew the smaller screw to take out any battery slop. You have to do this iteratively, by taking the cap on and off, but it's quick and easy.

The 8w has an incredibly low voltage drop, making it hit as hard as the Nemesis or Poldiac. Other Sigeleis don't do as well.

IMO a kick sort of defeats the purpose of using a mech. They are for those that like the styling of a mech but prefer the convenience of a VV/VW. They will limit the amount of power you can apply to your coils, but they will also not be susceptible to changes from battery drainage.

Edit: the Kick will also have a limit for low-ohms, just like other VVs
