I found most time you can only get 1 or 2 of the three Good, Fast, Cheap
With ahlusion 40 ml's for $27 on first purchase is not terrible
with coupons and bigger bottles later on pricing is not bad at all for good liquid

I've found most that are much less to be cheep and chemical tasting most times but
some people love it there's a huge thread on MBV

So just depends what you want out of it

Don't get me wrong - I agree with you. My two favorite vendors have pretty much the same price on larger bottles (30mL) as Ahlusion. But they had ways for me to try 5-6 samples for maybe twenty dollars or so. So I did that, found the ones I liked, and then felt comfortable ordering big bottles.

I could live with the $4.50/5mL to sample. But most of the juices I want to try aren't in the xpress line.

Maybe I'm cheap (though I like to consider it frugal instead :) ) But I just can't bring myself to spend nine dollars a shot (plus shipping) simply to see whether or not I like a particular juice. That's nothing against Ahlusion - obviously many people love his juices and he has plenty of business - but it's not for me.

Edited to add: I just want to mention that three different people have contacted me offering to send samples of Ahlusion juices they had. This is such a great board.

You will likely get the remaining emails withing minutes of each other. How many bottles did you order?

I ordered 4 and requested a fifth for sample. It's no biggie but I wanted to know whats average so that, for example if four days is average and I don't hear from them by Monday, then I'll send an email checking.

I'm real excited to try Ahlusions. I love complex flavors and got a sample pack in of Five Pawns. Crazy good except for one that has a black liquorish taste..Five Pawns states on a video they feel only Ahlusions has the same, complex, layered juice! Ahlusions has way more flavors so I'd rather buy from Ahlusions.

Only downside, Five Pawns comes presteeped and I'm hearing some people steep Ahlusions for up to three months????? Yikes!

I am really dating myself here but my first gaming system was the Odyssey 2. I think the first game I bought was Pick Axe Pete.

I remember King's Quest I ...going to the edge of each screen then waiting for the next screen to load...I loved that game. Fond memories.

The people at 5P told me on the phone something similar.

there are definitely some Ahlusion liquids that need to steep for a long time, but not all of them. i could tell by smelling my smooth criminal that it wouldn't be ready for a few months at least, and trying it over the weeks has solidified that initial opinion. cha yen orange blossom didn't change at all for the first month but is now starting to smell better. blue fairy hasn't changed at all and neither has ginger apple tea. i also got maple burley and smokin' cherries, and those have changed a lot in only two weeks. that's my primary issue with ahlusion -- most vendors will have flavors that predictably deepen over time, and then they just stop changing. ahlusion flavors are all over the board.

depends on the juice I have had the same experience with say mom & pops 5 layer completely dif juice after 2 weeks and again after 4 weeks
Ive seen this with some complex flavs

I've seen you posted your a fan of H1n1 which boasts a lot of complex changes over 8 weeks
I just actually ordered that and plan on trying after 2 weeks steep

there are many more examples
not really all that uncommon with good complex juice

Speaking of gaming, first game was space invaders on a Spectrum back in the early 80s. Had to type in the game code to play it and record it on cassette tape to replay it lol. Moved from there to an Apple 2E and played many others. Currently hooked on Call of Duty, can't wait for Ghosts to come out. The beauty of gaming now is that I no longer have to take cig breaks. I vape as I game :toast:

Okay, Maple Burley and Smokin Cherries DON'T change in two weeks. Your perception may change -- mine certainly did -- but the flavors don't.

I just got around to watching Dimitri's and Phil Busardo's Vape Team Live coverage of ECC. They interviewed quite a few juice vendors. Not a single one had a background as an experienced flavorist or even in the culinary arts. It all seems to be about the marketing...discouraging, really.

After Ahlusion I find that I have no interest in going back to juices made with the commercially available flavoring dreck mixed different ways. Marketing hot air isn't going to make that stuff taste any better.

On a happier note, Vanilla Black Tea was great out of vape mail but the vanilla and black tea were both definitely singing their own solos. After three weeks the flavors have melded into a beautifully harmonious chorus. The VBT is also wonderful with Sweet Surrender although I expect it would be very nice with any fruit flavor.

How can you say that?! Look, my 30 mL of Smokin' Cherries changed drastically two weeks from the day I got it. When I got it, the bottle was almost full; two weeks later it was almost empty. That's a lot change!

Hhmmm I would think then Ahlusions should wait longer then when asking for reviews. I thought I read on a forum they ask for a review w/in 10 days and then you're sent like a coupon or something for a discount in the next order..I could be wrong, hell I'm still waiting for email confirmations of my first order.

Anyway, if this is true, and their juices need to steep a long time, then you'd think they'd extend out getting feedback. If they ask for feedback within 10 days after a customer gets the juice, it would appear to me Ahlusions believes 10 days is the max needed for steeping, otherwise the taste could be way off and they might not get the best reviews?!

I looked back in my emails to check my first order with them. I ordered on May 7 and the email asking for feedback containing the 15% off code was on May 29. You have to use the coupon code within 10 days of receiving it. This is about standard for me - I receive the feedback email approximately 3 weeks post order. They will extend the 10 days if you ask them to, in my experience. I do not leave feedback at the time I get the email all of the time due to some juices still steeping. I leave it when I have tried them and ask for the extension. They really aren't .... about this. The whole feedback process is to help them build a personal profile according to your specific tastes, to tailor your future orders to your preferences. It's not for them per se so they aren't difficult about it. Just leave as much detail on what you liked an did not like about each liquid/flavor as you can to help them better understand what you are looking for in future orders.

Not "reviews," but feedback. Ahlusion actually asks to keep "reviews" to a minimum as too many people buy blindly without first getting to know who they're buying from. The coupon comes almost (if not more than) 2 weeks after you get the liquid, and then you have about 10 days on top of that. Practically a month.

Oh, just saw FP addressed this better than I did.

Very well said, Peraspera! This is exactly why I love Ahlusion. If I wanted DIY flavors I would make my own juice.

If anyone wants to know what it takes to mix flavors at Ahlusion go to the website, click Employment on the bottom right, and select Flavor Chemist.

I loved my sample of VBT. Need to order a larger bottle once I've gone through some of my other teas. I need to start ordering more juices in 30ml instead of 60. I have too much juice to vape!

I just started doing DIY in response to the upcoming Oct. 6 meltdown and I bought DIY stuff mostly out of fear of restricted juice sales or prices getting very high. I have learned in my 3 bottles of DIY so far, I am not a flavor chemist  The best I will achieve is something vapeable I can use if necessary.
