All this talk about the Boba Tea.. I've been an Ahlusion customer for about a year and gotta admit, hadn't tried any of them yet. I better fix that next order, starting with a bottle of plain. If I dig it, honeydew and coffee are two I've heard a lot of great things about. Also lychee, since I've never had that flavor, but will probably experience it from Orient Whisper first.

I've had a few ml of Sahara Blend left for a few weeks. Not that I don't want to vape it, but because I don't want to be out of it. And, I wanted to see if I noticed any more changes with age. Well.. not sure if I notice any changes.. but it is still really damn good. Might as well finish er up. I'd say it's my favorite synth/NET hybrid by a large margin. Too bad Dulce Cubanito didn't rock me the same way. Ah well, they can't all be winners. Though in Ahlusion's case it seems that the majority are.

My mental list of my next Ahlusion order is getting big. That's okay, they seem to age well so doesn't hurt to order big and let them sit. Well, actually order small a few times to take advantage of the free-be. So far; my NEEDs in my head are.. re-up of Sahara and Smooth Crim. First try of Gold Member, Boba, BLUEBERRY VANILLA CAKE (I've loved the StrawVanCake), Papaya Lassi... and my big wants are Orient, Lime Cream, Grape Vine, teas teas teas, and.. better stop, so much I want lol.

Oh wow, I guess I am noticing something quite different with Sahara. Since I reviewed it a few weeks ago (and now a little over 3 months total age), it's become noticably sweeter. The dry blast is still there a little, but mostly replaced by more sweet. I think Y_Cherry also notice that?

Which is why I think there is extracted Turkish tobacco in there. That low sweetness sure tastes like tobacco to me.

Oh, there's DEFINITELY tobacco in there. All you have to do is try Apollo's version and you'll see the difference is that there is NO tobacco in Apollo's Sahara. Honestly, for those that absolutely love Ahlusion's Sahara, I think trying Apollo's is a must try (strongly recommended). Get a tiny bottle and do a test--the sameness will be uncanny, though the difference will be glaring. 'Tis a trip.

My guess is extracted Virginia tobacco which is fairly sweet and synthetic Turkish tobacco. When it was first released there was the options for "more Virginia" and "more Turkish". Just a guess, maybe there is extracted Turkish too, or a Cavendish.

Whatever it's made of, Wlad found a pretty amazing combo of flavors to make a Camel vape that tastes better than a Camel cig ever did. I think SB is going to make a strong appearance at the next NETty awards.

Received my first order yesterday (really took forever, but I straddled a holiday when I ordered) and here is the breakdown: (All using 50/50 at 18mgs)

Cafe Au Lait:

I am a coffee snob and proud of it. I brew a cuban inspired style of South American coffee on my stove every morning, because it is heaven (and it gives me a three hour rush, seriously, snorting it couldn't be that much stronger.) Anyway, I love coffee. Right out of the mail, this is a mess. It smells pretty good, but with a hint of chemical. The vape is like glass shards on the throat and no detectable coffee flavor. This one will really need to come together over time - I hope.

Tiramisu

Right out of the mail, this too does not have any detectable flavors of coffee (or the desert itself). It is not harsh on the throat like the Cafe is, but it just doesn't have anything going for it. I could vape it now if I needed to, but I always knew this was probably going to be one of the juices that needed time to come together. (on a side note, I dropped a couple drops of chocolate cream in this for giggles and it was a vast improvement). I'm pretty confident time is my friend on the one.

Citrus Bliss - no menthol

From the minute I opened this, I was in love with the smell. Just wanted to drink half the bottle and bath in the other. The only reason I didn't bath in it, was that I don't believe I could handle the number of women that would be throwing themselves at me. I have really enjoyed the one tank full I have been vaping, but again it is scratchy and harsh on the throat. I get an amazingly realistic and deep citrus flavor, but also a throat full of glass. It is not as bad as the cafe, but I hope that mellows out because this has the potential to be a new ADV for me.

Lime Creme - no menthol

The lime is strong! It is overpowering so I hope this settles down with time as well. It is almost a little vinegar like on the back end it is so strong. I have high hopes for this one coming around, but won't be sampling it for at least 10 days.

Chocolate Creme - my sample

Right out of the box, there is nothing wrong and plenty of right. Tastes just like a mellow and deep chocolate with a hint of creme. Enjoyable from the start. The chocolate is not like eating a candy bar, but that's not what this is meant to be. I will try to steep this one with the others but I don't see a need to.

Overall - everything except Chocolate creme needs time (some a lot of time). A couple of these have a harshness that is just confusing.

Someone mentioned that Ahlusion's nicotine was stronger than other vendors? Why is that? Would that contribute to the harshness?

Finally, I knew going in that steeping is a must here. I can see from my sample how some flavors an come together to make them work. I am astounded at some of the steep times from folks...6-8 weeks is a crazy long time. Not that the person is crazy, but that a juice would require that much time seems...well like a long time.

Look forward to sampling some of these again in a few days.

I personally find Ahlusion's nic to be stonger than most, which may indeed contribute to the harshness your'e getting. I found their 18mg a tad to strong for me, so lowered it to 12mg while I was still getting 18mg from most other places. I've had the same experience with a couple other vendors. I'm not sure the exact reason. I know some brands of nic can be smoother than others. I also think with Ahl, and other vendors that seem stronger, 18mg is exactly 18mg per ml, while others may be a little less than stated.

Steep is your friend, but a week or two may be enough; 6-8 weeks is the exception rather than the rule. The Lime Cream (if it acts like my Lemon Cream did) will get noticably creamier within a week or two. The coffee may take longer, but the well-steeped Cafe Au Lait that I have is just an okay coffee vape to me. The Light French Roast and Kona Kick I prefer, and seem to have a stronger coffee presence. The best coffee I've had from them is paired with tobacco in the JG Blend, and I've heard the coffee in the Boba Tea with coffee is excelllent too.

Good luck with them. The harshness may smooth over too with a little time.

I thought the same I'm going to reduce to 12 mg as well

Also glad to see so much about the BT Coffee I have been really enjoying the BT coconut and thought that creamy note would be great with a good coffee Flav

I have two questions:
One: do you have to get up and order exactly at the time that they open, or is it possible to get an order in during the first hour or so?
Two: do I understand correctly that express liquids are not actually available? I shouldn't even bother to try to order them?
Thank you. This is a bit discouraging

1. I get off work when they're opening up so I usually just place an order right away. I haven't tried doing it any later. I've heard they tend to close shop earlier on Mondays, then the time that they're open gets progressively longer throughout the end of the week.

2. If you look on the right side of the page of any juice, it will tell you if it's available (in green letters) or unavailable (in red letters). If it's unavailable there won't be an option to order it.

Thanks for the thoughtful review! It is so funny how subjective taste is. I order my juices from Ahlusion at 18mg 50/50 too and I had a very different reaction to several of these.

Cafe au Lait was great for me right out of the mailbox! There was no chemical taste at all. It's definitely a light roast so if you like Cuban coffee I could see how this one might fall short. I personally love it and it is now my ADV.

Chocolate Cream was just OK for me when it arrived. This one definitely had a chemical taste which I assumed was the sweetener. It had to mellow for awhile before I started to really like it. It's a good, light chocolate mousse like vape, but even now I think the chocolate is a little too understated for my taste. I will likely use it as a mixer most of the time.

The Lime Cream is one of my favorite fruit creams from Ahlusion. To me it tastes just like a creamy key lime pie filling. It did benefit from a week of steeping, but after that it was just balanced, tart yummy goodness.

It's so true that taste is subjective. My experience was similar, however.

Cafe au Lait was peppery out of the mail for me (I wrote about it on here). It took about a month before the peppery taste and smell settled down and blended. I like rich dark roast coffee - espresso or Turkish, and this isn't really like that, but it's still pretty tasty.

Tiramisu smelled nice out of the mail, but had almost zero flavor for me. After a month the flavor is coming up, but still quite subtle. I haven't spent a lot of time with it for this reason. I'm still undecided on this one.

Lime Creme was a little strong in the beginning, and not very creamy. It only took a week, however, and it became a favorite. The lime settled down and there were more creamy notes.

Agree on the cucumber/melon/mint vape. Or some kind of cucumber. But you lost me on the balsamic. As in the vinegar? I don't know, I do love the stuff, even the really aged balsamic over vanilla ice cream.. but vinegar of any kind in vape form........... hmmmm.

I'm sure this has been asked before, I looked around some, but 96 pages is a lot to peruse!

What's the difference between the Ahlusion juices and the Xpress liquids (aside from one being twice as expensive as the other).

Finally got in this morning and ordered 5 Ahlusion flavors. WooHoo! Nothing makes you want something more than everyone talking about how much they love it and you can't even get near it! lol.

Guess I should've asked this before I ordered huh? Thanks guys, and girls.

best regards, larry mac

Oh, I was in a hurry and didn't notice the 5 ml vol for $4.50 vs. $9 for 10ml vol. Thanks for pointing that out. I was so shocked that I got on, I wanted to get registered, and get the order done before something bad happened, I got knocked off, and then couldn't get back on.

Does this ever happen to you. You write (one could say carefully compose using all your wit and knowledge) a post for a forum, facebook, whatever. Then your computer/laptop/phone messes up, forcing you to backpage, and suddenly it's all gone! It's so frustrating and deflating, you just say f-it, and blow the whole thing off.

Anyway, very excited to be getting five Ahlusion juices. Feel like I won the lottery today, when actually I just spent $56. lol!

best regards, larry mac
