...The flavors themselves are fine, I guess, but the bases are sickeningly sweet and make me gag, even though I definitely said I wanted no sweetener.

Someone in the rebuildable forum was saying that their sub-oHm build was making their juices overly sweet from VG. If you are using a sub-oHm build you might want to try higher oHms. I've never had anything from Ahlusion that would come close to being sickeningly sweet, even the juices I've ordered sweetened. However, I don't care for sub-oHm vapes so have never vaped any Ahlusion juices sub-oHms.

Interesting. I never heard of that correlation. My builds tend to be between 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω and I haven't noticed any particular sweetness. In fact, I can't think of a single Ahlusion juice that I've tried that was very sweet at all. This includes Strawberry Vanilla Cake, Lime Creme, and others.

How long does the Car-mel Mambo have to steep....I have had it 2 weeks now and it still smells NOTHING like a caramel ? Smells bitter if that is possible or maybe like coffee.....

You may be perceiving the malt flavor note, which is (to me) surprisingly strong (and yeah, I don't much care for it either :( ). Mine is at least 4 weeks old, and that malty flavor has receded, but it's never going to disappear as it is an essential flavor component.

I'm hoping the salted caramel (Gold Member) will be a true salty CARAMEL, hold the malt! (I LOVE the caramel Ahlusion uses in its Caramel Pear Black Tea.)

Great info El! Yes, no malt for me either. English Malt Toffee from Highbrow that I've seen others love was just too much for me, and I think it was the malt flavor that made it that way.

I too love the caramel in CPBT. When I first received that one, the caramel was up front and it was the best caramel flavor I've had in a vape. Then I let it steeped for a month or so and the caramel receded a LOT while the pear and black tea dominated. It was probably better overall that way, but I did miss the pow of the caramel. I was hoping the Mambo one, which I haven't had, had the same caramel flavor but looking like it doesn't. Holding out hope for Gold Member.

I think I said in the comments that any one of several different samples was fine, in case any of them weren't available for samples, since I was aware some weren't. I wasn't fussy about which one I got, I just wanted the chance to try another juice and get a feel for the flavors. I know at least one of the ones I asked for was available as Xpress, so I don't understand why they wouldn't be able to do a sample of it, you know?

My flavors:
Deal Maker (meh.)
Berry Shangri La (slightly better, but nothing to write home about)
Xpress Tiramisu (bleeeh, this is the first time I've hated a tiramisu ejuice)

All are 50/50 and 6mg.

I mean, it's great that y'all love them and feel they're worth the hassle. But I had a nightmare of a time just opening my stupid account on the site to make a wishlist, let alone getting an order in, because their hours are so incompatible with mine. And then it took a while for them to even get my order together... and then shipping time... and now I'm supposed to wait several weeks or MONTHS before I can use them? I don't have time for all of that! Add to that the lack of samples, free or otherwise, and the price, and the nauseating sweetness of the otherwise "just okay" juices, and I honestly don't understand why anyone would subject themselves to that. Especially not when I've got one fantastic online vendor and two brick-and-mortars within easy driving distance that make juice that tastes a lot better to me with absolutely none of this bizarre hassle. It's cool they're not doing this to make a profit, but for my own sanity, I think I'd rather order from someone who is. I'm glad other people like them so much, but trying to deal with the company and make the ejuices work for me is just too much for me, lol.

I stay away from Xpress liquids since you can't choose any options. If it is more popular with sweetener then that is the way it is made. Since it is pre made there is no way for them to honor any requests for changes.

Berry Shangri-La is much better at 30vg/70pg to me. The teas seem to lose some of the flavors at 50/50.

You have to be specific to get a sample. Including the mg and ratio. You'll get the exact juice you ask for in 10ml. Xpress flavors are not available as free samples. I'm sure it was overlooked because of the choices you included. You want to say "Could I have a sample of Lime Cream, 6mg, 50/50". If there are any options for the juice include them. No sweetener, no mint or menthol. I always put the sample flavor I want in my wish list so I can see all of the options I need to include in the comment box.

I do agree, if it is too much for you then Ahlusion isn't a good fit. Wlad understands that it isn't for everyone and he'll even recommend other vendors that you might like better. At the end of the day it is all about being happy with what you are vaping. No matter where you buy from.

Ahlusion just happens to be my "Holy Grail" of vapes. I have about 40 tanks each one filled with a different flavor and I've only come across a few flavors that I didn't care for. I mainly vape all the black teas, the creams, the fruit mixes, and am on a citrus kick now. Strawberry Snap, Cactus Juice, and Citrus Bliss are wonderful. Personally, I don't steep anything anymore. I did at first but now I enjoy all the variations of the flavors.

Oh no! I am worried now about the sweetener! I did say in the comments that I was unsure about it and didn't want anything too sweet! Eek! My order shipped today!

I adore any of the flavors that have sweetener as an option! It is recommended that you try a sample without it first but I know that I prefer it. It isn't offered on many flavors but the ones that it is I've found that it brings out the flavor for me. None of them are overly sweet even with sweetener. I know the Cherry Chocolate tastes like bitter dark chocolate to me without sweetener. With sweetener it tastes like an expensive chocolate bar. I prefer the Cherry over the raspberry although I like the Raspberry Chocolate, too. Ahlusion has about 6 different chocolates and the Cherry has my favorite. I also love the Chocolate Cream (with sweetener). It is a much lighter chocolate. I didn't care for the Tiramisu. I love all of the cream flavors with Pineapple and Lime being my favorites. Lime Cream is the flavor that started me on a lime kick. I love it straight out of the mailbox. The fruit mixes are amazing. I've never found anything like them elsewhere. Pink Label, Cantal-Berry Ice (no mint or menthol), Fijian Nights, Luna Fortuna, Sweet Surrender, Rune, and Red, White, and Blueberry being my favorites.

The best part about Ahlusion is how your flavors come together after you start giving feedback. Then your flavor is profiled just for you. I haven't asked for many changes but there are a couple that I asked for more sweetener. I also asked for a bit of cream in the Kona and Caramel Coffee. I like sweet, creamy coffee. But I really enjoy JG Blend as made.

You do have to try a lot of samples until you find the vendor that makes the juice you want. I know I tried at least a dozen vendors. I wouldn't say that any of them made bad juice. It just wasn't the right ones for me. All of the best vendors have a loyal following and you can usually find the top flavors by reading their threads.

If you send Wlad an email before ordering and let him know what you're looking for he's really good about making recommendations. It also lets him start a profile before you've even ordered.

Thank you! I want to try the chocolate cream, I did put in the comments that I liked berry flavors, especially ones with cream and desert flavors, nothing that was really sweet and that I did not like tobacco vapes at all. So maybe that helped. :) I think my package should be here tomorrow, so yay! Now just has to steep. I know it's necessary but I hate waiting sometimes! :vapor: It also sounds like we have kind of similar tastes except I'm pretty sure I'd prefer the raspberry to the cherry. I'm very, very picky with cherry flavors, I like fresh cherries but hate artificially flavored cherry stuff, it's always too sweet!

I wish I had asked specifically for a sample but now I know!

well someday I will find a good sweet caramel.....getting pretty expensive looking so far.

Joie, since my last post, the mail arrived and I opened my 10ml sample of Gold Member . . .

It took enormous strength not to chug the bottle straight down! GM smells like a terrific, sweet salted caramel, no nonsense, no nothing-else going on. I'll let it steep a few days and report back, but man oh man, that heavenly aroma! :thumb:

I'm not certain but I'm thinking a .5Ω coil was the mischief maker being discussed. I know nothing about the chemistry involved in vaping so I've really no idea if there is anything to it. However, it struck me as whole lot more than a bit passing odd that anyone would have gotten several Ahlusion juices that were overly sweet so I thought it was worth tossing out as a possibility.

For me, genesis atties reduce any complex juice to its strongest flavor element. I am not a fan at all. Rebuildables that use silica or cotton wicks don't have that effect for me.

I don't get the hyper-sweetness thing. I can't think of any reason someone would taste that in an A+ product. But then I don't know why people like the taste of Pluid at 60 watts either. So. . .whatevah.
