Tested my Ahl juices w/my friend, who I want to also love Alh because we split large bottles on a lot of flavors we both like and it was kind of a bummer because all four flavors I have we're too ripe still. And I'm still kicking myself for not getting fruits/desserts. The one that I was given a sample of is spectacular...Mango Lassi.

So quick question for the Ahl pros...how do I know if a flavor needs the option of sweetener added? I hope/assume, the deserts and fruit will already be sweet? The Cafe Au Lait and Spiced Pumpkin Latte, although not steeped enough yet, are not sweet at all and I could see maybe if I had added the sweetener option, maybe they would taste a little sweeter. My chocolate hazelnut, again not steeped enough, also doesn't taste real sweet. Maybe the sweetness pops after full steep? Who knows..

I'm looking to order a keg of Mango Lassi (ok, maybe not a keg, but biggest bottle I can get), Blueberry Vanilla Cake, Papya Lassi and torn right now on 5 others, but still in this same "family". No tobaccos, no more coffees..but confused with the sweetener option for desserts/fruits.

I must say I have never ordered any Ahlusion juices with the sweetner option in the 20 months I have been buying from them & they all taste plenty sweet on their own to me.....especially the dessert flavors. Can't say I've really tried the few flavors you mention above tho.

OK, quit smoking almost a month ago. Trying different things, looking for tobacco taste for now (yea, I know it's impossible - but that's what the monkey on my back wants). Using an Innokin iTaste VV v3 w/iClear 16 (tastes way better than Halo w/cartos to me) - so far:

Halo: Turkish tobacco (not bad, a bit artificial, a bit harsh), Tribeca (smoother, but sweet and to much PG I think), Southern Classic (yecch, tastes like blueberries to me).

Dekang 555 - better than any of the above for tobacco taste, but has an artificial, slightly harsh note.

Ahlusion is less than an hour away, I suppose I'll go up there sometime and sample (or wait for their A2 store to open). I like the fact that they're in Michigan, and I can support a local business, so I'd really like to find something from them. Based on comments here, I ordered:

Smooth Criminal - nice and smooth, more vanilla than tobacco though. I got this in both 30/70 and 70/30, like it best mixed to 50/50.

Vecchio - like a double shot of SC, even more vanilla

Neither of the Ahlusions were what I expected, not disagreeable in any way, and quite pleasant, but not what I was really looking for. Recommendations for a less sweet, more tobacco flavored liquid from them with the "smoothness" of the above?

I was taking inventory today and realized I have a bottle of Grape Vine that I am not going to use, so if anyone wants it, let me know. It's 50/50, 18mg, with expiration on 02/2014. No sweetener or mint/menthol added. Has about 15 drops of a 10 ml bottle missing. Ordered on August 5th.

I also have a full 10ml unopened, still sealed bottle of Sahara that I will likely never use as I have a lot of Sahara WTA to go through as well as 2 Ahlusion bottles in the process of steeping. 30VG/70PG, 24mg, with expiration at 03/2014. Not sure when it was ordered as I ordered several in late summer/early fall, but I received it within the past month or so.

How long did you let Smooth Criminal steep? Do you have any left? This juice will become less sweet over time and mellow out as well as become increasingly complex and develop into an even better flavor. I'm an impatient vaper and waiting for steep time is hard for me, but with this juice, it's worth the wait.

The Wild Woods have a smokey/woodsy note to them that is different than other tobaccos I have tried. I have a sample with apple and it's really good and continues to get better the longer it steeps.

Sahara is a tobacco that becomes less sweet and becomes more dry over time. Again, it needs some decent steep time, but with it, you will have a great taste.

Also try browsing this thread for other tobacco recommendations:

the smooth criminal really morphs after 2 week steep I wasn't sure id get it again
after 6 weeks steep I cant imagine life with out it

I don't know how strong you can deal with tobacco's
in the aromatic line they do not require steep time but they can be aggressive tobaccos
but I like them I find Vurly to be less aggressive of the bunch and smooth as well

other then that Sahara many vape right out of the mail

I also would like to hear opinions on the sweetening option. I always order the first time as Wlad offers it and in the pg/vg that is suggested. I have not changed anything up yet.

I am still waiting for my feedback emails on my two purchases back in September. Is anyone else still waiting or have you emailed him and gotten it resolved. I want to place another order and want to get my profile started. Any advice would be appreciated.

OK, I guess I'll just use up the 555 and Tribeca, and wait for the SC to "steep."

Peeve - they don't steep, that's a misnomer - there's nothing soaking like a tea bag. They age, like wine or whiskey. It seems like it's an oxidizing process - open the bottle, let some oxygen in, shake and wait.

Well, use whatever terminology tickles your fancy, but I promise, whatever you want to call it, giving Ahlusion flavors a bit of time on the shelf does wonders.

As far as sweetened goes, I have gotten everything sweetened and I like it. It is not sickly sweet in any way, shape or form! Not to me anyways and I hate sickly sweet stuff, I did put in the comments though on my first order that I hated sickly sweet things...YMMV

Boys, behave!

Shari- I placed my order on 9/5 and did not get an e-mail about feedback until 9/26. I imagine it may be taking longer than usual with the site, but that's 21 days or 3 weeks from order placed. You can always message them about it. :)

"There are a couple of threads ... people. Reminds...who...English."

Language is about communication. Perverting the rules makes it less effective. And, if you're trying to make an argument, it makes it less effective by changing the focus from logic to semantics. But I'm guessing you didn't listen to teachers much. :2cool:

I'm not sure if the terminology here reminds me more of audiophile BS, or 733T haxor-speak. It all seems to be an attempt to have an exclusive, private club, and trying to set a barrier to entry.

I'm guessing you think your some superior Intellectual
As far as the private club nonsense
Many people come to this thread and are welcomed

but then again they don't come trying to correct everyone

No, it is not, really! :D

Steeping eliquids is all about "diffusion" per Hoosier and Kurt--who just happen to be experts on the subject.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ask-veterans/158262-steeping-explanation.html#post2594434

Merriam-Webster:

Steep - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

transitive verb
1:to soak in a liquid at a temperature under the boiling point (as for softening, bleaching, or extracting an essence)
2: to cover with or plunge into a liquid (as in bathing, rinsing, or soaking)
3: to saturate with or subject thoroughly to (some strong or pervading influence) <practices steeped in tradition>

I believe that our definition of "steeping" of eliquids is described in definition 1.

Steeping, aging, diffusing... it's all good! :D

Carry on!

antagonistic (anˌtagəˈnistik) - adjective = showing or feeling active opposition or hostility toward someone or something; synonyms: hostile to, against, (dead) set against, opposed to, inimical to, antipathetic to, ill-disposed to, resistant to, in disagreement with.

You place your own barriers. I responded to your post in sincerity. If you want to argue over terminology, there's a forum called "Outside" where you will get many takers.

Welcome to the Ahlusion thread :)

Well I've loaded the Honey Cured in an EVOD..just out of the mailbox and I like it;) It's a nice change from the sweeter juices I like. I need to get the Cocoa Blend loaded up tonight. I tried dripping it a little, but I just don't know how to do it right ..always end up with more juice in my mouth than vapor with dripping:laugh:

Three drops at a time, and turn up the voltage a little! Three, not four or five. Until I got familiar with how different atties behave, which juices call for which voltages, and how each atomizes properly, it was suggested I stick with three drops at a time, and. . .it worked!

They age, like wine or whiskey. It seems like it's an oxidizing process - open the bottle, let some oxygen in, shake and wait.

Opening the bottle has nothing to do with steeping. Airing out ("letting some oxygen in" with cap removed) allows volatile notes and maybe some PGA to evaporate while allowing some of the nicotine to start oxidizing, which is not necessarily a good thing, because it lets nicotine deteriorate and possibly acquire a bitter taste and/or change color.
