Hi EveryDoby!

Been off awhile. I've been taking care of Churchill's "Black Dog" for months now. Truly a DE-socializing phenomenon. Sorry for the lack of participation. Anywways... I tried moving my way down to 6mg/ml but it just wasn't working for me. I'm finding that 12mg and adjusting my vaping to my needs based on stress works best all around.

Not a fan of TH, but I do like the Nic, more or less based on mood. So I vape it at 12, more or less as needed to suit my needs. I'm whittling down my inventory to my favorites, and that Black Dog has left me uninterested in the more intricate req's of builds and stuff, so I'm mostly using atty's and 'vela drip tanks. Lots of tanks (KFL's, Ithaka's) going unused while I prefer the simplicity of the 306's in the Vela Latinas and plain old Joyetech 510 drip atty's. KISS seems to be the rule while walking the Dog. I miss y'all, especially my old friends here.

As I empty certain Ho-Hum flavors to reduce to a dozen or so of my must haves, I'm missing the variety of 30+ flavors but the refilling process is becoming simpler. I'll probably start having fun again with rebuilding when I get better, but for now it doesn't interest me. In summary, at 1.5 years I'm still preferring the 12mg solutions. I still have too many but I need to simplify things recently and getting down to just my faves is the goal. Been passing on discount codes, too much stock. But I wanted to say hello and let my friends know I'm reading and enjoying thier posts.

Best to you all.
M.

Hey Louis. Understand about that Dog. He hangs out in the backyard some but hasn't snuck into the house in a good while now. Good to see you here. The 12 is still doing it for me too. Can't seem to get below it for long.

Saw some of Pedro's work a while back and was wondering how you were.

I hate quoting myself, but I'm going to do it anyway.

Just Criminal, today, is heavy chocolate. A semi-sweet chocolate, not bitter. But overpowering the tobacco. It's playing as 2 separate flavors: Smooth Criminal and chocolate. I really hope the tobacco develops more, the choc tones down or a little of both. Yesterday it was great, today it's too chocolatey. It's a very quick chameleon.

But I will say that Ahlusion is the only vendor that seems to do chocolate right. It doesn't taste like cocoa powder other vendors try to pass of as chocolate.

Dang it Shatner, I swore I'd never try another chocolate flavor cuz I couldn't take the disappointment. And now you're going to make me break my vow.....

I just got 10ml of this, based in part on your suggestion.
Is this one a steeper? Because it tastes strange to me. Not bad, but not what I would have expected. It's almost more of a coffee vape. I really don't taste caramel at all, and not a trace of saltiness.

In the same order, I made the classic boo-boo that I keep reading about other people making: I forget to select a PG/VG ratio, so I got the default ALL VG version of Cranberry Autumn. I didn't realize it until I filled a mini PT with it. It vaped very different than my usual 50/50s. It required some serious pulling. I almost turned my cheeks inside out. And even then, almost no vapor. Then I looked at the tank. Turned it upside down. And the liquid barely moved. NO! I said. WHY IS IT SO THICK?? Then I looked at the bottle. THEY MESSED UP MY ORDER! I said. Then I looked at my receipt. Nope. My bad. Damn!

Gold member I like at 50/50 mix with sweetener after 3 week steep its amazing
but it is strange out of the mail

Thanks so much. I had given up stalking the
web site until I saw your post. I managed to order some and seven hours later GVC is already out of stock. I don't want to bash the kid but this juice is over the top with hype, a web site that is usually closed, and he doesn't answer emails. Please help me understand this? Is it really that good? How long does he steep it? I almost hate to ask this last question /LOL but how long does it take him to ship and what method?

I guess part of my purchase was motivated by my curiosity since I already mix a twist/tweak using Capellas Vanilla Custard and found the following thread with some additional tweaks at: Grants Vanilla Custard Clone I'm certainly not inferring my mix is a clone, just saying that I like it a lot.

/ Sorry to go off topic a bit

:)
Your subjective post is great! If you don't mind here is my take.
Grant is not a kid and honestly one of the nicest guys in the industry not to mention hilarious. Great attitude, loves people and we have emailed quite a bit about nonsense. He always posts when he won't return emails and he won't. His small production has turned into mass quantities in a year. Supplying the UK alone is a daunting task not to mention EU as a whole.
Many have said the same as you asking and commenting about the hype, the hype was over 9 months ago and he is bringing new suppliers on board that can't keep it in stock either. He is a one man technicolor dream show that does his best. I have seen him make special small batches for vapers that are Pg intolerant on his break period. There are many juice companies that try to reproduce with fantastic results but it's not Grants. I have very knowledgeable friends in the community that see it as another juice and others like myself love it. I rotate in 1 bottle into 5 bottles of 100ml on a regular basis.
When one empties another goes in. But, I also have given much out.
He steeps them no less than 2 weeks before ship.
Like Ahlusion flavors, many have certain flavors they enjoy in specific atomizers. To me GVC hits the sweet spot at 1.4 ohms on a micro coil and coton or ekowool wick when the sugars start to crystallize on the coil and wick. Love it.
I enjoy supporting Wlad, Alley and Grant because they are great people and, great people to have in our vaping world. My devices, gear, juice will always be from people who care. I wasted plenty of money supporting big tobacco who didn't give a .... about any of us. :)

On another note 180 ml of Ahlusion to my door in 4 days and one was Sunday. WOOT. Fastest ever!

Is Bryce's still only sold through Facebook? Because I abhor FB and refuse to get an account. I actually did a juice trade with him a while back and he sent me a sample before he started selling it. I kept forgetting I had it then ended up losing it when I had my accident a couple weeks ago. I'm a real fan of the custards that are egg heavy in taste.

I pm'd him on here last Friday. Got my juice today! This was my 2nd order from Bryce. I think the first time I went through facebook. I actually like his Vanilla Pudding better than the custard after a 2 week steep. I also got the new Vanilla Cupcake, so we'll see how that is. (I have more Ahlusion juice than I know what to do with).

So, I'm looking for another mod and I cannot decide. Currently have several Reo's, Nemesis clone, Vamo V2, and a Provari. Not sure if I want VV/VW or another mechanical.

I like the Provari, but its rather expensive for what you get. I have thought about another but they just don't grab me.

The Vamo is good, but it feels cheap. The bottom cap comes loose and I have to reset it. The buttons are noisy and its big (tall). Otherwise its a good mod.

The Reo's are great, but I have plenty and leaning towards another tube mod.

The Nemesis clone is made well but the button, well, sucks. Keeps sticking. When it works, works great. When I set it down without locking, it usually fires...I have the magnet's in the switch.

Suggestions anyone? I have looked at the Zmax and the new Spire. Not much I can find for good VV/VW other than Provari though. I like a quality unit. Maybe mechanical, but I really don't dig the bottom buttons. I had a Legend and never loved it.

A DNA 20 or 30 would be the only thing I can think of that would offer something different then what you already have
they have both box version and the zen version is tube

In market parlance, I'm long the Caravela. It is an amzing mechanical device. Maintenance is an issue to keep it working optimally, but the craftsmanship and quality are second to none. I have more than I care to admit, but it is an amazing device when paired with an optimal JDS. My optimal traveling mods are the K100 and the Provari, I mostly keep the Vela's home due to their value and unique position in the vape world. I've tried many mech and electronic mods. Provari is a crapshoot based on the electronics. Vamo's and other electronically controlled devices have so many quality issues. The Vela keeps doing what it was intended for. I'm a big fan of the simplicity and effectiveness of it. When properly maintained, there is just nothing in the market like it. By far, at home, it sees more use than any other mod I own. Flawless design and effectiveness, espcially when paired with the Latina 306 drip atty. It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking.

Provari is def not a crapsoot its a quality device with warranty and service
the build is excellent and it hits like a dream

I don't have $200 to through around at every mod that comes its way
The provari was def worth it

I also have a wish list in that price range that would be good buy's that offer something unique
would include a REO and a DNA

Yea there are a lot of VV or VW devices around I had a vamo that wore out its 510 threads in a few months
there aren't many that have this quality of build, Level of Technology, Support and warranty

If some has that kind of money to through around at mech's great, I respect that 100%

but for some one who has to choose wisely provari is def one of the top devices worthwhile

I have a GP PAPS, and a GP Lux. I know Idaho has them too. GP makes the best mechanical mods I've ever owned. They are bottom button, but the button is smooth, flawless, and it only takes about millimeter of push to fire. And, you do not have to lock them to stand them upright on a table...most cleverly designed. They do have a lock if you need to put them in a bag or briefcase. Very shortly, the v3 of these devices will come out, like within a week. They will also feature a GPin on the top cap...self adjusting for the battery and the mod. Both of these are 22mm mods. They do make a PAPS X that is available now with the GPin, comes with a sectional tube for different sized batteries.

There is a very active thread on ECF; we'd love it if you'd stop by.

First and important, do you want a variable voltage or mechanical? :)
Akdare is correct on all counts, oh...and Awesome! All I would add is the quality, service, care and Perseas's love for us. It doesn't get better. Recently getting a few loaners back I think I am around the 17 mark to include my flat out kick ... wife's :).

Agree friend, don't throw money at every builder's mod. But, find a quality builder with skills and be loyal.
A quality device should last a lifetime of vaping or at least a good amount of time.

Sometimes I feel like such a Luddite because I refuse to use FB but I just can't bring myself to use that bit of junk. The privacy policies alone should be enough to scare off most rational people. Glad to see I'm not the only one who dislikes it.

I will not use Facebook either. My daughter in law and son have been badgering me to sign up for an account so they can just post all the baby pictures on their FB account. As of now, they have to email pictures and videos to me. I kind of like it that way. Make them work a little to make sure Grandma is taken care of. What can I say, I am a little selfish. Being so far away I need the attention. And the pictures.

Besides, I do not trust Facebook or Twitter, Google either. Information whores so they can turn around and make a buck off you.

I'm right there with you on the bottom button devices, I'm not a fan either. In fact, the one thing I was least sad to lose in my accident was my Nemesis VapeRev edition. It was a pretty beast but.... I just hated the bottom button.

I'll have to say the most trouble free, reliable mod I've owned has been my Provari. Solid construction, survived an accident and still works like a dream. Even Zen of House of Hybrids raved about the battery monitoring software Provari uses during his "Fireside Chat" recently with PBusardo. Zen is also reportedly collaborating on something with Provape to come out later this year but no one knows if it will be a mod, atty, etc. Plus if you're into rebuilding the Provari will fire down to 0.8ohms resistance and the new faded color mods are snazzy looking.

I would say that about my Electric Angel mech as well except the button has a tendency to get hot when I use it. Not uncomfortably hot but definitely noticeable, not sure if it's an error on my part or what. But I do like my EA mod. I believe out of the mech's PBusardo has tested the EA ranks #2 for least amount of voltage drop so the conductivity is quite good. EA does have a new mod coming out in the near future that does NOT work on Ohm's law of resistance. I believe it is supposed to automatically adjust output optimally for any atty you put on it. Here it is, the Invictus:
http://www.grimmgreen.com/post/69797141236/the-ea-invictus-mika-from-ea-electric-angel

For me my next device will be the ZNA with the DNA30 chip. I had been thinking about getting a DNA device for some time but many of the devices I was looking at were pricey and had some issues. The Futura v1 had some issues but the revised production model fixed them however the curve of the caps bugged me. The Wizard Evolved was just too damn expensive. Then I saw the prototype of the ZNA and fell in love with its Art Deco lines and sort of box/tube mod hybrid look. It comes with an 18490 tube but you can switch it up with the other size Zenesis tubes as well as the Zenkote colored tubes (if you saw the "Fireside Chat" videos it showed that the coloring can't even be removed with a grinding wheel so scratches would not be an issue). All that and at around the same price as the DNA20 mods. I know I'll probably never use all 30 watts of the ZNA but it's there if I want it as well as some extras Zen had built into the board just for his device.

So needless to say that in my free time I've been stalking the ElectronicStix website trying to acquire one. My one year cigarette-free anniversary is this week on the 13th and my birthday a couple weeks after so it will be a gift to myself.

I guess your next mod would depend on what you want to use it for and what catches your eye. I believe Hana Modz also makes a DNA30 device, a box mod, but they're sold out as well last time I checked. Oh, and the DNA30 chip will fire down to 0.5ohms.

I'm really loving the change back to USPS. I'm glad Ahlusion listened. I placed my order last Friday and received it on Monday. I even requested the "not on the menu yet" flavor Melon Masquerade as a sample and got it. MM smells very honeydew and cantaloupe heavy off the bat but into the steep cupboard it went.

One question for those who may know: I ordered the W&A Sasparilla and asked if they could turn it into a root beer float (as I've seen others mention that they can). How would I know if they did this as there is no notation on the bottle? Or should I have asked for root beer cream?

I have seen others request a root beer float when ordering W&A Sasparilla but do not know the outcome. I can tell you that my bottle of W&A Sasparilla had no hint of cream in it at all. So a taste should tell you. I would send off a quick note to them with order # and get clarification on what changes they did or did not do for you. I would be interested in the outcome. I love root beer floats.
