In light of how much work I am sure will be involved, I sincerely appreciate Skinnie's initiative in taking the bull by the horns. I would, if I might, however, and I mean this with ALL respect to our buddy Skinnie, suggest that HulaMoon be given right of first refusal on setting this up. She was the originator of this thread, and I'd like to be sure we aren't stepping on any wonderful toes or failing to recognize and respect the original creator of this amazing thread. Just a suggestion.
Well, well... Sounds like the interest is there... So here are a couple things to think about and iron out first.
I am willing to facilitate the process, and therefore be stuck as the defacto group owner... But I need around 4 other people to help moderate the threads. It would not require much... We would need to help each other with the following things:
- Keep the sub forum organized, not OCD style... But so it didn't become a giant mess.
- Make sure all posts and content follow the ECF rules and guidelines, which we all already follow in this thread
- And anything else we see fit
It would not require anything beyond basically reading all of the posts, which most people here do already, haha. I think the easiest way to find a small group of moderators would be by volunteer or nomination (the actual number of them is not that important as long as there are a few to watch each others back). So if you would like to help, or would like to nominate someone to help, please speak up.
And the second thing to figure out is the name of the group... Which I think should be a group decision. We could post ideas and then vote on them?
And finally to quell any fears about this being some elitist thing... The new group would be Public, and anyone could join and participate... No invitation or approval required. As this process progresses, pending ECF's approval process, information will be posted on how to join and where the sub forum is located.

A social group is a great idea. I figured a vendor subforum was out of the question for the time being, but a social group never occurred to me!
I think "Ahlusionati" is especially apt.
You posted a link to the bamboo you used once. I liked that idea more than cotton, so I bought exactly that.That's exactly what I use to recoil my novas. You'll be fine. Nothing to it compared to the regular rebuildables which can be a pain. Get that multimeter and start enjoying the full potential of the novas.
I think "less visible" sounds ideal, given the content discussed via PM.

How bout "A+ Tavern" or "underground speakeasy".... Dunno just brainstorming also if we are short on moderator nominees, I would be willing to give it a shot.... If need be. Mind you, I have lots of time, even at work, as what I work alone and basically watch cameras all night long lol.

Hula will be the determining factor in whether this thread stays open or not, or, I guess, if this thread as it is will be moved. The group as a whole is moving, but as far as this thread, I am not sure what Hula wants to do with it -- I am still waiting on word from her.

Cool. I could do it for a couple months, but after the baby it's sayonara. The moderators can rotate and while I think there is a minimum to start, I don't think there is a maximum.
The moderators have been contacted by a moderator, now just waiting on word to proceed.
I also would volunteer as a moderator if needed. I'm a stay-at-home mom to a wee one so I have a lot of "naptime" reading opportunities and whatnot.

I wholeheartedly agree. What we call ourselves and what we call the name can be two different things. Bumping this forward with an addition (realized what I had typed earlier looked like "A-"!):

How about The Pluses, or The Plus, or Plus, or just The A Team? I don't know, I can overthink thiese things and I don't really want to let you all in my mind too much with the windshield wiper way of thinking.
. Really, we're just playing around 'til we find out if this is doable. I'd hate to find out that we are stuck here cause this is not solely a liquid group anymore.

Moving day for the Ahlusionati...huh? LOL. (is it weird that as I was reading through everything, i had mental images of all of our avatars moving boxes and whatnot? It feels like a real office move or something today. ) LOL I think you guys know I am in IN already...and willing to help however I can. (I do travel every few weeks, so if I was helping out with anything...I'd need a backup when I am out of town)
Mr.Mann - so based on those tobacco's I mentioned...you don't think SC, or any of the others would be a good fit? (I wish I knew more about this persons tastes)
