Did the gifter tell you "oh, by the way..."[emoji6]
You could try putting it in the freezer and see if the seals will contract.

It was my brother in law. Lol he did tell me about it but I just figured he probably never cleaned it and it got all gunked up with juice and when he was done threw it drawer and forgot about it till he gave it to me. Lol I'll try that.

Try using 2 wide rubber bands. One rubber band on the top cap and the other on the side airflow part. This should give you added grip to turn with either your hands or pliers. You can also try cleaning everything first in an ultrasonic first (atty looks a bit dirty in the pic), then after it's clean, freeze it in the freezer as metals reduce from the cold, then try again.

I would try soaking in hot water and then a trip to the freezer. If that doesn't work you can try wrapping a towel or sock around it and gently using 2 pair of vice grips, 1 to hold the base and the other to turn the top you may be able to get it started enough that you can finish pulling apart by hand. Just careful you don't damage it by using too much force.

I can remove it from the deck if that's what you mean. But other than that I can move it. If I want to adjust the air holes I'm forced to use pliers. I'm gonna try the hot water then freezer trick.

I mean can you take the entire thing apart? It looks like it has been banged up and could use some TLC or it's just going to eventually lock up on you.

Personal take here, but it's the AFC sleeve that may be the issue. If you haven't already, get some rubber gloves on and try to twist it apart under very cold water and make sure you're pulling apart while twisting. Looks like a deep sleeve and if tolerances are loose and the o-ring gets compressed, the inner and outer sleeves can kind of fuse. It'll take elbow grease.
