Figured i'd ask a question for my 5th post. What is the deal with the air intake holes? there just in the brass between the atty and the batt? My friend covers his up, saying he gets more vapor. Is this true, is this bad to do? What is the deal with the 2 holes on the 510 battery? are those also intake holes? Stupid question i know but why not, i need the post:p

I assumed the air holes were where the air you inhale passed thru to carry the vapor from the atty to your mouth. Covering them up tight would then be like sucking on a straw with your finger over the end. Or so I think.

My manual battery is sealed with no holes. I think the auto batteries have holes, but I've not seen one.

Yes, this is where the air comes in and yes, your manual does have little ones. Look at where your atty screws into the battery.

Welcome to ECF Vaporz. By the way, the only stupid question is the one that goes un-asked. The slots if covered would , as already posted, be like trying to suck a bowling ball through a straw on most models. I also have manual batteries without holes except for the slots by the battery. I know there is a hole in the automatics so it can sense air draw to activate the switch. It's not a good idea to drip with automatic batteries as you could ruin your battery FYI. Have a great day and vaping experience. PS Ask all the questions you need to, the people on ECF love to help fellow vapers.

The holes are where you get the air that mixes with the mist as you drag on the PV. Though covering them gets you a stronger hit in terms of vapor and throat hit, understand that another function of the holes is to help cool the heating element in the atomizer as this air runs over it - very helpful if your cart is almost empty and the wick is somewhat dry. I once soldered them all nearly closed on an m40x series atty and I've found that covering them shortens the life of the atty somewhat, probably because it runs hotter.
