Airflow & Riva 510 cone

Periodically I've had issues getting a decent amount of vapor from my Riva 510. I use separate carriages & attys and a straw & blue foam mod on the carts. After toying with varying amounts of the blue foam plug, changing attys, and finally buying a meter to test the attys, it occurred that I may not be getting enough airflow at the bottom of the atty.

After removing the cone and trying again, I suddenly had clouds of vapor again.

So I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues with the Riva and it's cone. Any satisfactory solutions before I drill holes in the cone?

You don't have to drill. You could file a small notch in the skirt, or ream out/enlarge the top of the cone.

Use a similar approach that jewelers use to enlarge rings, ie expand it by forcing it onto a tapered shaft.
There's also 'larger' cones for thicker carto's.
Or just don't use the cone.
