Airline Security and e-cigs

Hello All,

I've been supplementing my smoking habit with e-cigs for over a year now - ie: I still smoke when it's convenient and e-cig when it's not. This summer my husband and I are planning a trip from the states to the UK, has anyone experienced going through international security with an e-cig, and if so, what can you tell me? Ideally, I'd like to have my e-cig in my carry on so I can smoke in the plane's bathroom, but I'm concerned it will be flagged as a security threat when passing through security. If this is the case, how about storing it in my luggage, not carry on?

Any advise, experience?

Just call the airline and they will let you know. I know it was allowed when we flew in Canada.
