Carry-on the batteries, and liquid up to a couple ounces total (follow the TSA guidance on liquids carried in a ziploc bag). More and more TSA people know about PVs, not an issue unless you have something really bizarre. I've had no problems bringing a couple ounces of eliquid on board, with several large batteries (Riva and G400), and put extra liquid (multiple ounces, gifts for siblings) in checked.

Loose lithium ion batteries (what PVs use) are actually not supposed to be checked: TSA: Safe Travel with Batteries and Devices

I successfully traveled with my ego just last week. But since the first guy couldn't identify the thing with the x-ray a different guy had to go through the entire contents of my purse. I explained what it was and he said he was going to tell his dad about them. I did get busted on the plane for using it. But all they did was tell me to put it away.

Couple of filled cartos/carts are no problem at all. Vaping in the secure portion of airports is generally not a problem, but always follow local rules. I don't hide vaping, but I also don't go for massive clouds of vapor when I'm in areas where regular smoking is not permitted -- I'll use more PG and/or exhale into a drink if seated.
Even with high VG mixes, if you hold the vapor in for a couple of seconds very little will come out on the exhale.
There's a travel area in the forum, lots of hints from experienced people. Travel and E-Cig

I do remeber them saying that you SHOULD NOT try to vape on the plane. So in that case you should really only need to carry on enought to hold you until you get your bags when you land. Any more than that could be an issue.

correct, i just wanted to be able to carry one tank with my E-Cig.. the remaining can be as luggage..

Thank You
