Airport Security...Flying with e-cigs

I've had no problems carrying my PV with me when flying. I carry it in my jacket, and only once the security folks asked what it was (after the jacket being run through the X-ray machine). When I showed him what it was he gave me a thumbs up, and said something like 'Wow, that's an impressive one you've got there!'

Ah! Vhat haf we here ?! Strange littel bottles. And zis contraption making clouds wiz a strange smell. Surely, zis is a chemical weapon, and surely you are coming here wiz evil plans. Perhaps ve need to tort.. err investigate some more about zis and you are suspect, so ve vill perfom body cavity search ( rolls disposable glove upto elbow) ....



In Vapistan, we're a bit cautious about hitech clones from strange lands, anything other than the locally manfuactured, charcoal fired, earthenware "beloved steamhead" personal vaporizer ( that's the name of the vaporizer, not our lifetime president, he's called beloved jughead )... is bound to cause some minor delays at immigration...

I even had a 1300 eGo on a lanyard around my neck that I forgot to put in the plastic tray Houston to LAX. Nobody blinked an eye so kept my Vamo in my shirt pocket thru TSA Fort Lauderdale to Houston still no problem. juice bottles in baggie in front pocket of backpack didn't take it out....still no problem. Put blue painter's tape over battery contacts in battery boxes also in carry-on. No problem. Two weeks on cruise ship with Vamo in 18350 mode.........used it all over the ship except the dining venues. Did not see any other vapers nor did I get any questions from staff. Easy peasy.

I had a guy at an xray machine ask me what kind of PV I had and then pull out what looked like a Kamry 100 and pull the cap off his RDA and tell me I needed to get something similar

I left mine at home when flying to Vegas, and ended up spending 15 bucks for a POS e-cig at one of the newstands. I used it in my seat a couple times, but when i got up to go to the bathroom to chain vape. As long as you keep the juices in plastic bags and they are under 3 ounces I don't think you'll have an issue. The mod might stir up some talk going through the xray, but I'm sure you can just explain what it is.

To avoid rules against vaping on the plain, just use you eliquid like an eye drop, one drop will cure your nic fix. Haha kidding

My wife and I flew overseas in September. I generally keep anything that I may want to have contact with in a canvas satchel on my shoulder. It holds my netbook, phone, a couple of books and my PV. I had one small hiccup in Frankfurt but once I explained what it was, there were no issues.

TSA regs are becoming a little more lax. You can now bring your fingernail clippers on board but still no ski poles or cattle prods. Fingers crossed for that.
