Travel and Vaping Airport Smoking Rooms

When I'm in an airport with a smoking area, I usually go to the smoking area to vape. I just don't want to put up with the crap from people who are always yelling "you can't smoke here" among other comments.

I connected in salt Lake city last week, and they had a real nice smoking room. I sat there vaping for about 30 minutes. No one asked a thing while I was there.

When I left & headed for my gate, I couldn't believe the stink that was following me. (No, I wasn't farting.) That analog stink was in my clothes. Every time I turned my head, I could smell analog stench coming from the shoulders of my shirt. It never went away, until I washed the shirt & pants.

I'm planning to steer clear of the enclosed smoking rooms in the future.

We dont have that problem in the UK.

No smoking in Airports full stop .

Apart from prestwick they let you go out the fire door by the cafe but as far as I know the rest have a total ban on analogues .

The US is becoming the same way. There are fewer and fewer airports that are smoke friendly.

The Indianapolis Airport has a smoking ban on airport property. You can't even smoke in your car on surface roads within airport limits. $200.00 fine if they stop you.

God, I hated those rooms when I was a 2 pack a day smoker. I can't imagine going in one now.

Jim Davis - Last time I flew in to Indianapolis, I had no idea about the smoking ban in the airport. As soon as I landed, I lit up right outside by the curb on the way to the rental cars. One of the securities went right by me in one of those Segways and mumbled something in my direction. I didn't quite hear him, so I just shrugged it off and kept on walking. Then a different security guard walked by me and told me "No smoking in the airport!" So I said fine and put it out by a trash can.

When I was leaving to fly back to LA, I went to the parking lot to smoke. I figured the farther up you climb, the less likely there will be security. And I was right, by the time I climbed to the roof top, there wer no cars and no guards. I found a nice pile of cigarette butts on the stairwell. That's always a sign of a good smoking area. One of my employees had followed me to smoke as well. While we lit up, I explained to him why smoking bans are ineffective method of controlling personal behavior. If there is insufficient enforcement, then you'll just have a lot of creative smokers and lots of littering in strange places.

They *are* going a bit overboard there. I did however, vape in the terminal restruant, and no one said a word to me.
