I usually only run the AL85 at 45 watts. It holds up white well with the stock tanks/coils for the kit. It's just this V2 tank that's giving me problems. It worked for a few hours last night, but is back to not working again this morning with a freshly charged battery. I purchased the Samsung batteries from electric tobacconist.

As for smok stuff not lasting....I've had this AL85 kit for almost 3 years now.
Does the tank work if you try it on another mod?

Some people I know have good experience with AL85s and I actually think it's still a good mod.

It seems something wrong with the tank itself. Can you take it apart and check if there's some metal shaving or somehing shorting out?

The biggest issue with SMOK seems to be quality control. It's possible to have a good experience (or two) with them, but you can't count on it. That said, I agree that the problem in this case probably has more to do with the tank than the mod.

@Bill54, when you looked at the insulator, did you check it carefully for cracks or other irregularities? If so, my first suggestion would be to return it as faulty. If that's not an option, I'd second @RuiG's advice. Take it apart and check for shavings or burrs, give it a good clean and put it back together.
