With the new rules coming I to effect that smoking with minors is not allowed I am very concerned about the future.

I am am very concerned about this new law. It essentially gives the police the right to pull you over whenever they see a cigarette inside a vehicle. Now as provinces (Alberta included) try to introduce laws that put ecigs in the same place as cigarettes we have a growing concern.

How do you feel about everytime you take a puff from your ecig you might get pulled over for it? They are very close to passing that law and there seems to be nothing that regular folk can do about it.

I drive a tinted Minivan (all factory tint) but I guess that any officer at any time is going to assume I have kids with me, so essentially everytime I take a puff I run the risk of getting pulled over if the ecig legislation passes.

How ow is this fair to the taxpayer or the citizen? This is just one more reason to profile and discriminate. They passed the law without discussing the levies or fines that come with it. How much sense does this make? And if they are willing to do that with real cigs what kind of punishment are ecigs going to take!

There's definitely precedent for it as Ontario passed a similar law in 2008.

I know that there are already other provinces that banned smoking in a vehicle with minors, and I have some problem with that as it gives extra excuses for you to be pulled over, but I was more concerned about the ecigs being treated as analogues being piled onto the law, and as I just saw a moment ago it seems that that will soon be the case in Ontario.

There is something inside of me that screams this is so wrong but I can't find the proper wording to express my frustration at this time. So I will refrain until I can find the words to do so.
