I use CPH, alcohol, and H2O; all work for minor cleaning.
Alcohol dries fastest.
If I had to choose, I would pick alcohol.
Sometimes boil in dish washer detergent if really gummed up.

Have never heard of dishwasher detergent but it makes sense if your not worried about a little residue , which does not cause me concern with dishwasher soap once in a blue moon.I have used pga and it seems to work pretty well when a quick h20 blow or rinse will not cut it. ty.

I tried cph early on and found that it produced lackluster results. I think some well intentioned folks get over excited about the results they think they've gotten with a certain technique and begin spreading the "good word". For myself I found that alcohol produced better results when I was still using standard atties and filler cartos.

I've been using a Polident tablet the last several months and the results have been very good for me. It's easy to drop a tablet in a glass of hot water and let the attys soak for awhile then rinse them out. I've also used Vodka and CRH but I think the Polident works better. Maybe because I don't get the gunk buildup now that I DIY. I've only had one atty die in 10 months so I'm accidentally doing something right. LOL

The polident treatment is one method I did not try so I can't speak to it's effectiveness but a lot of folks have reported positive results FWIW.
