am i the only one happy Layne isn't around to have released that sappy ... new Chains album?
i'd like to think that if he'd still been around.. it would have been a "harder" album... but i'm no fool.. and i know Jerry did/does the majority of the writing
Although generally true it is not always true. about 10 years ago I got lucky enough to see Black Sabbath with all the original members with ozzy(and Zack in tow) doing solo material afterwards. That old guy pulled a heavy metal double shift. I can tell you that both performances were over the top awesome with no slouching on any of the songs.

i know Layne had ALOT of input.. whether given writing credit or not.. but my fear of the new album is that it sounds like the typical "we're getting old" type thing.. it's not a BAD album.. it just doesn't have the edge that they used to have
as to the sig... i am a bonofied Mike Patton fan... all things Mike Patton are godlike in stature.. probably some of the closest he's come to reliving the spirit of Angel Dust.. is his Peeping Tom material.. absolutely LOVE the songs Mojo and We're Not Alone
