Wow! Thank you for sharing your experience. I have one Kanger Pro-tank and it is the newest, the Kanger 3. I am confused about it because I keep getting told it is a dual coil and to me this means two coils at 2.0 OHMS-so am I using 4.0 resistance? I thought about using my Protank for this. Heard it eats up juice but cannot be any worse than you accurate description of all the wasted juice caught up in 2-3 coil changes a day. I hope you get back to me regarding your thoughts on the Protank 3. If this is not an acceptable option I will save this lovely juice and buy a Protank 2.
I got 2 regular Pro Tanks first...a real PITA to clean, so when the PT 2's came out, I bought ONE..............then I bought 2 more, then 3......and now I'm waiting for an order of 4 more. I checked out the PT3 and that dual coil scared me off, I just want it as simple as possible and good to go. They've all been Kanger Tech, some people say the clones are just as good, but I'm not going to drop something that's working for me all ready, and it's been a long, almost a full year, vaping for me with all the newbie "hit or miss" on gear.
You know how you might start vaping with a disposable? And then you get an eGo, a twist, your regular stick type batteries? And the vape, hit, flavor, is pretty
dang good (watching the "censor", LOL!) But then you want more. So we get the eVic, SiD, MVP, etc., etc., and the problem is, the current on those mods are not constant, they pulse, unless you go high on the VV or VW. Those stick batteries (cig-a-likes, eGo, etc) have a constant pulse, not the old "rattlesnake" pulse. I finally succumbed to ProVari...constant power......and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. If you can at all swing it, save for one, whether a mini or a full size, the quality, craftsmanship, is impeccable, the warranty is awesome, and it's not something that immediately draws anyone's attention...........enough about that.
I don't have the time or patience for dripping........but, who knows, maybe in the future?
Kanger Pro Tank 2's, things that may occur, troubleshooting, etc.
1. The heads on your tank and replacement heads may have some manufacturing issues, sometimes it just happens. The ohms may not be as described or the coil was wrapped wrong and it's a dud. That's where rebuilding is the way to go and switch both your wicks and coil insert with cotton. The taste of the original coil and wick materials DO show up in your vape, slight, but it is there. GO COTTON!
2. Watch out for your gaskets when cleaning or taking the PT2 apart. Some will flip off like a rubber band, never to be seen again! You won't even realize it til you put it back together and the dreaded leaks start. I've gotten 2 extra gaskets with every PT2 I've bought, make sure you hold on to them.
3. Gurgling and juice sucking......there seems to be an issue with some of the heads where the head "chimney" doesn't fit up snugly into the stack, and the "cup" gasket on the chimney doesn't fully seal between the two. First fix is remove the upside down "cup" gasket and replace right side up. That usually works. If the gurgling and mouth full of juice continues, double cup that puppy!

When you double cup, be careful when taking the base off when you want to refill it. The fit is so snug that sometimes the head will stay put when you unscrew the base, not a problem, with the base off, just pull out the head......just putting this in there in case it happens and it freaks you out! LOL!
4. The base, heads, and glass cylinders can all be bought separately. Vape Dojo seems to always have them in stock so that's my go to place. Most big vendors are out...not good!
5. Put a few drops on any new heads before you screw it into the tank. Give it a few minutes, you want those wicks saturated before you hit the button, or you'll be tasting burnt wick and coil. Do a couple of vapes off it WITHOUT any power, pull that juice into your coil and wicks.
6. Save all your used heads. When you ready to re-coil, and change your wicks, there's some good Youtube video and step by step instruction here on ECF. And there's us peeps here on this thread!
I hope the mods keep this here because sometimes it's just easier to stay on one thread and not have to jump all over the place!
Megan! I hope I can indulge your wisdom on building the PT2 coils when I get my wire! I've been using 2.2 ohms and I'd like to build 1.4, 1.2 ohm coils......
Yesterday and today is 15 Foot Falls..........Any of you who are getting first time orders for the bottles, not the sample size, would be best advised to age (I just can't get my head around "steeped"!) your AiV. 24 hours with the cap off, then a daily shake for at least a week with the cap on. The size of the bottle may have something to do with it, haven't really taken a good look at that option, but steeping enhances the flavor even more. I've had bottles that I thought were "WHAT?", after trying the samples, but left on a shelf for a week or more and they were golden! I would have totally blown off Zombie Apocalypse if I hadn't been patient.
We need some serious input on the best devices for vaping AiV, besides dripping! LOL! Some of us can't do that when we're out dealing with critters and such!
PS: Do you dry burn your coils when you clean them?
