I need to know so I can tell my friend. Are all the metal Reos made of 100% aluminum or are they a metal mix of some sort?

There are many, many aluminum alloys. I have no idea what particular one Reos are made of. But yes, they are aluminum.
Hi Rob. What is 6061 and can you tell me if the brass LP RM2 is all brass or just painted. 
Rm2 is plated brass with a ceramic deck plate. I believe it is plated not paint because it does not tend to flake around the air hole after drilling, and remains shiny in the grooves on the stripped version. The plating has also stayed on the threads quite well, they haven't gotten rough on any of mine.
It is plated. As you sand it down to brass you hit a fine layer of copper which is used in the plating process.
So you're not having to sand it down to brass are you? And the brass isn't prone to chipping is it? The plating must make it strong? too many questions....
Instead of buying a brass one from Rob. I buy a regular and sand it myself. No the brass does not chip. No worries about strength either way.

Yes you can sand a chrome RM2 down to brass. It easier if you mount the RM2 into a 510 extension and then mount that into a drill. Start with 120 grit and keep going higher in grit until you get the look you like. 320 is a nice finish 1500 a polished look.

Just to be clear…it's not a brass layer. It is solid brass underneath the shiny silver layer.
Good catch and exactly , It's a shinny layer, then a very thin copper layer, then solid brass.
The enjoyment of doing it myself and the ability to get exactly the look I want. I have made some of them into brass mirrors.
I had one that I got looking all copper, but there was one area that I hit a little too long with the sandpaper so it was brass.... left it that way for a bit, but the one brass area was driving my OCD nuts so I finally just finished sanding it down. Was kind of neat having a copper RM2 for a little while. I may have to try it again, and this time plan on doing it from the beginning and make sure to sand evenly. The earlier one wasn't planned, I just liked the copper when I hit that layer.
