What paint is on my door?

Hello,

I just received my first Reo Grand today! I got the black wrinkle metallic red. Well, it has a bit more "Sparkle" than I care for. So, I figured that I would just strip off the paint and polish the aluminum. Unfortantly, I can't figure out if the door is powder coated or anodized.

Does anybody know?

It is powder coat. You might want to try a swap in the swap thread. Someone might be looking for a sparkly RED door!

Pshaw...save the door and order another from Rob in the color you want (it's around $20 I think). Then, when you get your second Reo (you will you know) you can swap out doors.

However, if you're dead set on polishing up that there door...you should just be able to sand the paint off regardless. Right? Anybody? Did I guess good?

I managed to strip and polish my entire REO in about an hour by hand, started with 80grit and worked up to 1500wet

Wish I had a wheel! I didn't strip the inside but I'd like to eventually

Started out wrinkle black. It wasn't easy to remove even with 80 grit.

LOL! Yes, the finish on the Reo is just plain AWESOME!
