... or at least i hope so.

i have a problem: my ego pops atties like crazy. so far i have had one atty survive more than a day or two, and most dont even last an hour.

is there an atty somewhere that can withstand the ego? i dont care about th, flavor, or vapor production nearly as much as i do about longevity (i am both cheap and poor, so i need something that will last).

any advice about where to go?

thanks in advance for any help.

Something is wrong if you are burning them out that quick. I nail my 510 Yeti atty with a direct drive IMR14500 cell (no voltage bucking like in the eGo) and have not had a problem with it accept it likes to burn the polyfil (I've gone to direct drip for atty use for now anyways). The only way an eGo is going to burn a good quality 510 atty out is if you are running it really really dry, which isn't healthy.

Presuming your Ego is manual, how long are you holding that button down when you're vaping? and how long between vapes are you giving the atty to cool off a bit? Regular resistance or LR ? Bad atties happen, but it sounds like there's some user error involved here too. Hopefully we can help you figure it all out :)

I also agree. I would think you are running them dry and/or overheating them. I allways keep 2 pv's loaded at a time and alternate pulls between them when im vaping heavily. Otherwise, if im using one at a time, I let it cool and wick between pulls, maybe a min or so. Still on the original attys on my Ego and joye 510. Been allmost a month. I did burn up 2 attys when I first started vaping with my Riva by not following my own advice, but thats how I learned. Ive had good luck with both the white fluval and the blue foam. Just make sure it stays wet and in contact with the mesh in the atty.

Some atty's last for ever, some die after a few days.
Wet or not wet...has little to do with it. They are mass produced, and as with all mass produced cheap items, component quality varies enormously.
If you are paying anything over $2 for an atty, you are overpaying.
One good example of how the same brand varies is that one atty can give throat hit but little to no vapor, and the next gives plenty of vapor without throat hit..go figure?

...

also, are there any good cartos for an ego? or is it just like attys where as long as you take of it, its gunna last.

I actually have taken a preference to cartos right off the bat on my 510 compatible device. I use LR cartos from altsmoke almost exclusively for most of my vaping. (unless I'm in the mood to direct drip, like when watching movies or TV). I'm powering them with an IMR14500 in a BB so that keeps me in the clear for malfunctions with high current stuff... For the eGo, it's probably still best to stick with standard resistance stuff so you don't burn out the mosfet in there, but yes; Cartos do work well. I have some standard 510 cartos from iVape and they work great. I'm not sure who makes the cartos and where they come from and who carries which units, bit I suspect that just about any reputable supplier would have a decent 510 carto worth trying out. Also, a 510 to 808 adapter is only a couple bucks (altsmoke sells them in 3 packs for like $6). The KR808 is probably the most widely respected carto platform... I'm tempted to give them a try myself.

I have an Joye eGo also and have only went through one atty in two months and that was my own stupidity! I went from an automatic battery PV to the manual eGo and was just holding down the button too long. Now that I have switched to the eGo mega atty and carts, have loved it with no atty problems what-so-ever! But the mega atty is harder to prime because of how deep it sits in the tube. So make sure you give it time to wick up the juice before using it.

I buy them for $2 from China but i do not sell them. These are custom 801 attys @ 5.5Ω. I vape at 8.4v~9.3v
I buy 200~300 at a time.

Out of 10 new atty's that i test for my own usage.
2 perform badly, so i trash them.
2 more will die in the next 6 days.
2 more will die after 15 days.
4 will last for months, but progressively become harsher with time as the Ω decreases.

I can see why you buy them 200-300 at a time and don't sell them.
2 out of !0 are totally worthless.
And only 4 out of 10 will last more than 1 month.
I could definitely live without a deal like this.

Not a very good testimonial for Chinese craftsmanship.
They're not just inexpensive, they're CHEAP.
