Hi guys,

So some of you may know i just recently got my first ecig and i'm finding that i am having a couple of issues.

I am getting good vapor, good throat hit. No flavor comes through, I tried to blow out the atty like some one said to because it was my first time using it, but the juices all still taste the same. I expected some "sweetness"in my sweet juices. but i dont taste any sweetness. I got Chocolate Banana, Clove, and Mint Melon (i havent tried this one yet) and they all just basically taste the same same with the marlbo that came with it. All the same. And serously - you can not get much different then choco-banana, clove, and Marlboro! :grumbles:

I have Hi nic juice for the most part, i do have a one that is medium as i have been smoking about two packs a day. I'm about to go in search of a shop for cigs cause i'm not whole heartedly feeling the satisfaction that i was looking forward too.

I'm not sure if its because i was expecting too much my first day - part of me really expected/really thought that i would toss my smokes out the window willy nilly without thought the MOMENT that i got my ecig but i am really finding that i am CRAVING the analogs hard core, plus i have headaches. Which i hear means i am over doing it maybe? Or maybe having a negative reaction to PG?

An on top of it all all my juices taste exactly the same, and since i dont have anything to compare it too... :sighs sadly: I am sadly feeling a little disapointed. I think maybe i just need to accept it may take a little more time for me to switch over then i had originally believed.

When I first started E-cigs I also noticed that all the flavors seemed to taste the same part of the reason is that it takes awhile for your taste buds to return from the use of analogs. I did keep smoking analogs but cut way down in the use of them going from a two pack a day habit to one or two packs a week. Now I have quit analogs all together and I find I am getting much more of the flavor out of my e-cig. I hope this helps and keep vaping! Good luck:thumbs:

Hi Nikki, your juices will taste the same for a while...this is pretty common for new vapers...gotta remember that your taste buds have been battered into submission by smokes for years, once you have eleminated the cigs, they will start to return and you will be able to start tasting different flavours, just give it some time.

Using a different atty for different flavours is a good idea as well...if you use a mint flavour in an atty, everything you vape from that day on will taste of mint. Try and set aside a few atties for different types of flavours (desert flavours, fruit flavours, tobacco flavours and definitely a single atty for anything that contains menthol/mint)

BTW, when you say "high nic" what is that in numbers? (different makers seem to have diferent levels for high medium etc). I personally started out with 24mg nic juice, it was the magic number for me, never had to increase or decrease the level, it just worked for me, but we all have different tolerance levels/needs.

Yea, 24 for me is what i ended up getting for most the liquids. Thanks for letting me know about the melon mint favor too - glad to knwo that i had that thought intuitively which is why i didnt grab for it right off the bat.

I guess i thought my taste buds wouldnt be so bad since i only started smoking again two months ago.

I went into the hospital last year for six weeks, almost died, and was force quit. Though, thoughout my history asa smoker i have been able to quit smoking pretty much whenever i was feeling like it. I dunno, i guess i just expected to feel good about it right away, which i just didnt feel right off the bat. I mean, i DO get a good throat hit, it DOES feel like smoking, but i find i can only take a few drags on my ecigs, and just dont get the SATISFACTION i get from my regular cigs.

Course, i was alays the type of person who buys the smokes that LAST for like 15 minutes cause i like a LONG cig which i can smoke while i write or do other things. It never occured to me vaping wouldnt be like tht, but its not really.

Eh, i guess need to get used to it, i'm sure.

:)

Nikki-
Maybe it's your juices. Since you just started- did you get them all from the same place?

When I first started I went nuts and bought a ton of DK stuff, the cheapest I could find- it all tasted pretty much the same: like perfumy chemicals, if anything at all.

After ordering again and again I finally started finding some that actually tasted like what they were supposed to... but I paid for it: Ecopure, Johnson Creek, DIYflavorShack, JuicyLiquid, etc.

I don't like all of them but at least they taste like something.

Much of it also depends on the atty you are using, it sounds like a 510 by the way you describe it. Great vapor but light on flavor is a signature of a 510. To clear a flavor from an atty use a few drops of PGA (everclear) and blow it through from the batt side into a napkin. Repeat a few times, prime atty with three drops of new liquid. It may not be completely gone but will help a lot. I started when you could get 36mg easily and still use at least 30mg. There are other things in a smoke that you will crave besides the nic but that goes away in a few weeks. For better flavor try french inhailing and exhailing through your nos as well as your mouth.
It does get better.

Want some really sweet juice? More like sweet tabbacco? try a bottle of Johnson Creeks - Ten cured.. you would love it :) but one thing i learn about TC juice if your buying a big bottle get one of the mini droppers bottle also.. So when you on the go you can use and the rest store in fridge ... TC cure after a while if not in the correct tempature can go weak.

Just as a reference point. I smoked 3/4 to 1 pack a day camel lights. Started vaping.. did not realy like it that much (used the carts that came with it). Ordered some juice. Once the juice arrived I went down to around 5 cigs a day. This continued for around 3 weeks, I then made a concerted effort to cut these out over the following 3 weeks.

As someone said to me when I first started... "If you feel like having a cig, have one". There is no need to stress about it. For some people it happens the day they get their ecig. For others it takes a while. There is no need to intense have cravings at all.

btw.. I still have slight cravings. I just take a puff on my ecig and all is well.

I was a 2-pack a day smoker for decades and decades. Still I quit completely after smoking only one pack the first week I started vaping. My tastebuds were dead dead dead. Couldn't taste a whole lot but they do recover... slowly. Vaped some Strawberries & Cream today for the first time. Very strong flavor and sweet so not an every day vape that's for sure. My point is it was almost too strong tasting for me. :)

Also, buy some good quality juice. It really does make a difference. The headaches your having are probably analog withdrawal symptoms because you will go through withdrawal somewhat and you may even break out in acne as your body starts ridding itself of toxins. I did. 8-o

Don't give up, I think finding that 'all-day vape' you're looking for just takes a long time, and after about 3 months I still haven't found it.

I'm finding all the tobacco juices taste the same, just different strengths. I don't like any of them. Some of the fruit juices are just too weak. Nhaler's Pear Lung is strong and delicious.

I'm vaping mostly MINT from Rocky Mountain Vapor and even add it too some of the other juices I have. But I long for that juice that I'll love enough to vape all day. Hang in there. :)

Well most user have there own ways of getting there taste.. But the most common one i belive is that even tho most of our taste buds are getting back it still takes a while..

I mean i can vape on mornings and don't get a strong taste of flavour.. This is my taste buds prob taking a rest or something lolz.. But it so happens when it becomes night time i get extreme flavours that i don't even want to go to sleep :(... But same atty that very next morning it goes back to stage one..

So mabey your taste buds needs to kick in ... And even tho it does .. You need to build it up during the day.. Am not saying it was be awfull when you start every morning but it tends to play tricks on you.

taste can vary for several reasons. first is that atomoizers take some breaking in. after a day or two your juice should taste right. second is if you switch flavors on the same atty then you will cross flavors and that can taste bad depending on what flavors you cross. when i mix a new batch of juice it always seems to take a while to taste right. regardless i think vapor tastes much nicer than anolog smoke anytime.

for the first week I could not taste the difference in the flavors I got.. as far as cravings for a real cig.. that only took 3 days.. the first day i smoked 3 analogs when i really wanted one.. second day smoked one when i woke up.. on the third after i ate dinner really wanted one could only take 3 drags because it tasted horrible to me..

the melon tastes like cantaloupe its alight.. I have only tried the nhale/xhale so far.. the grape ape, blueberry, the raspberry and cream hv is good.. the raspberry frappuchino is my fav out of them so far.

Sounds like "flavor burn out" to me Dwillings. I have the same problem. After 41 years of smoking up to 2 packs a day, I am taste-bud-challenged. In order to get a satisfying flavor I have to go 50% !! If I were to vape the same flavor for more than an hour or so it would simply disappear. My solution is to have 6 to 10 fully loaded PV's going at once - each armed with a different flavor. I rotate.

When I first started vaping I tried the Dekang stuff but it all had an "undertone" and no discernable flavor for me. One thing that seemed to help was switching to VG based liquids. JuicyLiquid.com is a great source, as is Vermont Vapor. Then I got into DIY and can make flavors as strong as I need for them to be.

For the first timers, I would recomend buying a juice (like English Toffee) and also buying flavoring alone. This way you can boost that flavor until to can really taste it. After a few days or weeks you will start smelling and tasting... I started with English toffee since you can grab ET loranns and easily boost flavor.
