My problems with RoyalSmoker's clearomizer are burnt taste and leaks...Anyone can help?

Finally, a post that this thread was intended for. OP, where are you? :vapor:

My suggestions to try.
Burnt taste. Match the ohms to your device. I use the 2.8 ohm on a 3.7v device, with a drip tip to get my mouth farther from the coil. I often hit the button for a couple of seconds before starting my draw and sometimes release the button a couple of seconds before ending the draw. This gives me decent vapor and th with maximum flavor but it does require a long draw. If you're using an eGo you might like the 2.6 ohm better. Just remember that the button always makes a good heat controller. If I'm using my 5v PT, I usually hold the button about three seconds on a six second draw. Just experiment a little to find what works for you.

Leaks. If you have cracks, you might try some tape. The newer versions have a silicon ring at the base so make sure it isn't damaged. If you push the slider out to 3:00 and then start this video, you can see the silicon ring.

Hope this helps. :vapor:

NorCal - The place to be!
I'm a pretty fast learner and I can 'mickey rig' just about anything. With the clearos, I tried everything, and I just could not get a satisfying vape out of them. I even made big syringe mods out of a few (check my photo album on my profile). I tried them without the silicon cap, I've tried... man I've tried everything. They just don't seem to be for me. I need shotgun blasts to the back of my throat in rapid succession. It would seem, IMHO, that the clearos are simply not capable of doing that. If I turn up the voltage, I don't get a greater TH, I just get more burnt taste.

So, OP... do you have any suggestions? Something I may have missed? At this point I'm afraid that these are just incompatible with my vaping preferences, however I would like them to be. The concept is great, and I did notice that since the coil was closer to your mouth the vape was warmer which I enjoyed. However, I need more TH, more vapor, and I need to be able to take subsequent draws sooner. Boge LR's keep up with me just fine. Do you think I'm 'Clearo disabled' or they're just not for me...? :)

TomCatt-- If you don't like a product, and tell us why we learn something, and it gives us a heads up to not buy them, or just a few to try ourselves.

You make an excellent point here and I certainly agree that we should share our experiences both good and bad. I think what TomCatt is taking exception to is the posts that seem to imply that their conclusions are the only valid conclusions for everyone. I think I'm sometimes guilty of this myself, and I guess it's human nature to promote what we like, as in --oh you've got to see this movie--etc, etc. If you look at the title of this thread, it's intended to help those that want to try to make the clearomizers work for them for whatever reason, but it's already cluttered with opinions and conclusions that don't necessarily help the newbe that's trying to make it work. Just my $.02. :vapor:

Pros of the clearomizers I've tried (fluxomizers):

• I can really taste the flavor of my juice - just as good as dripping
• wow! amazing vaper - MORE than dripping
• neat to be able to see how much is left

Cons (maybe you can advise):

• can't seem to get the inner rubber seal back on after fluffing the wick - so it'll leak if I put it down
• I also get a very strong plastic taste that's off-putting
• Have to wash them out between each use because the juice seems to get thicker and darker as I vape, by the end of one fill-up it's like molasses, disgusting if I just top off into that muck

Question: Does anyone know the best way of removing the plastic tube on the regular CE2's...I mod these for my SSR and I have a hard time getting them off...any secrets to this? Today after busting one completely I put it on a old ego-510 and used needlenose pliers...it came off without difficulty...I would just like to know if anyone has any better ideas? Plus with a few duds it can get pricey to replace my tank system. When it works I can get at least 2 weeks out of the ce2. I have my old ones I plan on deep cleaning when I get desperate.

I agree with every thing but the recommendation to trying 2.6 ohm i just got a pack of 2.4-2.6 clearos which i use on an ego batt but the resistance is too low. Even after fluffing the wick and modding the rubber cap that sits above the coil i still find myself unable to take 3 or 4 drags in a row with out the coil getting too hot and having a burnt taste. With some time and use I've come to the point where i can make them work wonderfully so that i will not have wasted the money but i will definitely be ordering 2.8-3.0 ohm next time.

Just remember that your button is a heat controller. Keep all your pulls long because we're vaporizing a liquid so pull the air in very slow over 5 or 6 seconds but on each drag stay on the button less and less. With just a little practice you'll see what works for you and it very quickly becomes second nature and you don't even have to think about it. Hope this helps. :vapor:

edit: I might add that I do think you'll enjoy the 2.8 ohms better. That's what I use (eGo, e-power, 5v PT).

I only use clearomizers I had no luck with cartomizers they never lasted very long and were juice hogs IMO. Clearomizers I get about 2 weeks of use before I toss one. (only one that I had straight out of the pkg had to toss as the threading was not right and wouldn't fit ) I have no trouble with cracking of the tubes and I always use a drip tip (the little plastic thing is horrible that comes with it) I have had no problem with leaking (but I heard only certain juice causes this and weakens the plastic, the one juice I was nervous about was apple pie but no leaking on that one either) filling is quick and easy just pop off the black plug discard, take out only one of the plastic rings and put tip of syringe in one of the holes and push the plunger until full then put ring back in and put drip tip on wait 15 minutes and it is done. I purchase mine from Madvapes I have used the regular and the XL I like the XL as you don't have to fill as often. I think it comes to personal preference this is really the only thing that works for me. I would never go back to carts again because they were in my opinion time consuming and messy. Just my two cents :)
I don't understand why you have had no cracking problems because most of the posts say they do, including me, and a drip tip makes it crack sooner. Some are cracking when you get them and its a bad enought problem that GotVapes sell JUST replacement tubes and can't keep them in stock, So clearly there is problem. I do like the clearo's but not the cracking. Also (just wondering why would you throw out your clearo's after 2 weeks, they can be cleaned and dry burned and almost like new again.

Like everone else I too have the cracking problem. However, I simply remove the innards from the cracked tube and replace that tube with one from a burnt dual-coil metal cartomizer. This tube is longer and exactly the right size so the seal at the thread end prevents any leaks. Also, you must use a small tubing cutter to remove the thread end and some of the length of the dual-coil carto. Now these last forever! Also, when new before use I remove the silicone seal that surrounds the ceramic cup. This allows more liquid to reach the coil and prevents the burnt taste. After removing the cup seal I use the thin silicone seal that sits on top of the cup as a dam to prevent too much liquid from coming up into the tube. Works great! And, I don't miss the fact that it is not clear at all! Any questions about this mod just ask.
