I want to find a combination where I can use a usb passthrough and direct drip my VG juice. I have been using a smoketip passthrough with a 901 atty. It worked at first but now my atty gets really hot and starts smoking!
The smoketip passthrough is 5volt, according to their website.

I need some advice on what set up I need to direct drip and vape with a passthrough.

Any suggestions???

With a passthrough use the regular atty, Low Resistance (LR) attys are for use with mods. Also I found when I first got mine it helps to set it down for awhile to cool off, I tended to vape rather steadily at first. If none of that helps you may have one of real powerful ones that needs a High Voltage atty. But any more you have to be careful when ordering attys, I accidentally ordered LR attys and boy did I get some vaper and throat hit but they only lasted 3 days.

The solution seems obvious to me. You like the set-up so get 4-5 more attys and tips and as soon as one gets hot, swap it out for a cool one.

Thank you for your reply but I failed to mention...I can put on a new atty, and another and another...they all smoke when connected to the passthrough. The atomizers do, however, continue to function normally when removed from the passthrough and connected to a KR808D-1 battery.

Thank you for your reply. I may have gotten carried away and over-heated it by "vigorous vaping"! I am not sure, but I think that my atomizers are what would be called "regular". They are 901 attys ordered from AquaVapor LLC. The problem is more than likely me...I will try to cut back on the constant vaping while at my PC and see what happens. Thanks again!

Use 3.0ish ohm stuff at 5 volts. Also, the juice can be thinned with a few drops of water or PG.

Or you could get a PT with an inline battery that regulates at 3.7v. if that is the voltage you are vaping at when wireless.
